Ruined my hakko?

I just went to pick up my flush cutters and they were literally positioned over the wire to my hakko pen. When I picked them up, they gouged through the rubber protection of the wire but didn’t cut through the wire. Is there any problem/danger with taping it up and using it?

No, if you only damaged the insulation just put some (electrical) tape over it and you’ll be fine.

I did almost the exact same thing, tape it up and you’re good to go. You can buy new pens separately if ever needed.

And in case anyone wants to know, the Hakko stations usually only output 24-26V AC, so you are not in any danger at all.
Fixing the insulation is still recommended to prevent a short and potentially damaging the station.

Electrical tape or if you can get it on there somehow heat shrink is a cleaner solution

If you didn't nick the wires, just tape it and you're good. Don't sweat it, things happen!
