Arrma RC's
  1. Granite
Before I knew arrma was the best I got a 2wd rustler brushed. I quickly realized I made a mistake and bought a granite blx. I didn’t want the rustler to go to waste so I started modding it. I had leftover parts from modding my granite so I put as much as I could on the rustler. I shorten the rear arms to make it more square and changed to a 17 tooth pinion and 54 tooth spur. It’s insane. It backflips almost as fast as my 4s granite. I couldn’t even hit full throttle without it lifting up. Just the way I like it hahah. I know this is a arrma site just saying that old rustler might be worth dusting off

Looking good! :giggle: (y)

I actually quite like the Traxxas 2wd lineup. Installed an LCG chassis, a Hot Racing Sealed diff, brushless setup, plus some additional suspension tuning on my Slash 2wd, and now it handles like a dream.

The diff seems solid in these. Plus it’s way lighter than my granite. Only thing I’m worried about is the drive shafts

Very nice.
Did you have to do anything to use those wheels/tires? I may have to grab a set for my wide Stampede.

Yeah I used the hex from my granite. They were not a perfect but they worked.

Are you using the Jato spur?
Use Rustler 4x4 rear driveshafts.

No it’s from the vxl 4x4,
I didn't think those would fit. I just bought a Hot Racing 48p spur for my 2wd Stampede.............. Do have a picture of what all you used by chance?

I wish I would have started with the vxl. If I had the money I would gotten the badlands for it. It’s been my main skatepark basher

Reminds me of my eJato :)

I beat the snot out of that thing. The body is a newly installed item. I was running a normal jato body, but it got severely destroyed the last time out. I got tired of the rear body mounts getting ground off repeatedly anyway, since they were part of the shock tower. Will see how a shoe-goo'd/mesh taped cheapo body does on it.

I had my eye on a used one of those a while ago but didn’t know anything about it. That thing looks mean. Do they still make parts for it?

Yeah, but some of the upgrade/aftermarket stuff is harder to come by.

In nitro form, it doesn't need much, except for a solution for the rear shock tower as it will snap off if you look at it funny. Wish RPM made one for it, I'd have 3 of them on hand. The brace I made helps it last a lot longer than normal.

The landing at 8:08 is what took it out this last time:

I put taller rod ends on the rear shocks and I'm guessing the faze MT 2.8's are a bit taller than the trenchers I used to run combined with the really hard rear landing almost on the face of the jump just put so much force into the shocks that instead of flexing, the tower grenaded.

I’ve watched this video before , some good bashing. . Well I’m glad I didn’t get it then hahah
