Savox SA1230SG - external BEC?

I will be putting the SA1230SG in my V4 Kraton. I have a MAX8 esc along with dual motor fans. Will the internal bec of the esc be sufficient for this servo or will I need an external?

1230 is roughly 5300ma at stall. Depends on your fans

Turn the MAX8 BEC to 6V and you are GTG.

It should run fine with no issues. I run (and have run) a very similar setup with dual fans and 1230sg servo. Just remember to run it at 6v as is not rated for higher. That servo is strong! I ran them in my Kraton, Typhon, Limitless, Revo and Ofna GT.

How are you going to run the fans? Through the receiver or off of the balance plug?

My fans are running off of the receiver so I guess I'll put it in and let her rip.

Just make sure you set end points correctly. Savox are amp hungry it's over 5amp at stall and each fan to be safe is probably. 5 amp so you are taxing the max 6 a bit. If the esc starts to thermal that would be why. Until then have fun
