Scorched titanium rear axle oring

I just installed my titanium rear axle shaft. It came with a rubber oring. Does anyone know where I need to place it?

Only place I can imagine that would be placed would be inside the drive cup. Might not need them though.

Yeah I just remembered it's only in the diff cup but there should still be one there.
