Is steel preferred or stainless?

I was just trying to open the access panel to check the mesh and I either stripped out the brand new Allen or the screw. I got pissed and just stopped right there.

Stainless is softer. I just got the 2 listed just because

@firstrctruck is correct. Stainless steel is softer. A lot of people go stainless steel because they like the looks of them better, which is also why when you do see RC screw kits they are in stainless steel.
