I'm converting my Arrma Senton 3s to a Typhon 3s. (Or Syphon) After bashing for a few months I've noticed that my body is breaking so often because I land on it so much. I went to order a new one and realized that the Typhon body was about half the price. Looking at my cousin's Typhon body, he doesn't even have a crack in it because when he flips over it doesn't touch the ground. I decided I was going to get Typhon body mounts and a body. I'm getting bigger tires and a smaller pinion too. I'm hoping to save a little money on cheaper bodies and them lasting longer along with me liking the Typhon look more now. I'm planning on leaving the senton bumper on because it's bigger but changing the rear bumper.

Next I'll probably 3d print the rear wing (Thanks Camaroboy383 for modeling it) and the rear wing mount (Thanks suchtragedy). I might be 3d printing some bigger tires with big teeth for the dirt, not sure yet tho. Still have to model them and not sure how hard it will be since I just installed meshmixer last night as I have been using sketchup. Sketchup hasn't worked good for printing as it fills in holes in some layers and makes holes where it should be filled in.

I got the body and body mounts on. Looks kinda stupid right now without the rear wing and the junk tires on. The bumpers make it look dumb too.
My bigrock tires, bigrock pinion, and typhon bumpers just arrived today. Can't wait to put them on and try it out. :) :) :)

Tires, pinion, and bumpers on. The rear wing is 3d printing right now. I rode it at 75% power without changing the pinion to see the speed, and it rips! I didn't want to do 100% power with the 20T pinion for fear of overheating the motor. I don't understand why nobody else does this, it looks sick, rides great, and isn't an expensive change. It should look even better when I get the rear wing and wing mounts on. The next upgrade I think will be a better servo. With the bigger tires, extended hub thingies on the tires, and the fact that my servo is already junk. I think it's now safe to call it a Syphock (Senton/Typhon/Bigrock)

I'm not sure if i'm going to be putting a SWB Granite chassis in it because I would either have to get a Granite body OR cut the rear of the Typhon body a few inches and re-drill the holes. I think I will leave it for now and see how it runs then maybe that will be a future project.

The rear wing is done printing. It makes the car look 110% better. :) :) PS: Thanks @Camaroboy383, the wing turned out good, great designing! And @suchtragedy, I'm printing the mounts right now (I just set the wing on the shock towers for the pics) and so far they are turning out good.:)(y)

If you look, you'll notice that I posted all of this today like I did it all today, but, I just copied most of it from my other build thread over at rc talk forum. :) :)

Hey @suchtragedy, the wing mounts turned out super(y)(y), but, I didn't follow your advice and used PLA. We didn't have a direct drive extruder OR TPU so I just used PLA. The mount broke after a few cartwheels. Maybe I'll re-print it when we get direct drive and TPU. For the time being, I might just buy a wing mount.

This is awesome! I’m developing a love hate relationship with my stock Senton. It’s not it’s fault 😢 I just don’t have a short course close by and all dirt places around me are hard to find. I’m loving it on the beaches, but in parks and grass it tends to catch and flip. I’m going to move up to 6s soon, and don’t want to shelve my Senton. This build gives me some inspiration. Thanks

What printer are you using? I have an Ender 3 Pro and I still use a bowden setup and can still print TPU decently. Even with a really poor bowden setup you should be able to print firm rated TPUs (90A or higher shore hardness rating) without much trouble as long as you turn down or just turn off retraction.

I recommend the Sainsmart 250g TPU rolls on Amazon to try. They are about 16 bucks so cheap to try and it is really easy to print with.

I'm using an Creality Ender 3. Me and my dad are just starting to use it so we are going to learn it and get used to it before we go into like ABS, TPU, PETG, Carbon Fiber etc.
@Ginglehopper why not just use a stock typhoon wing?
I just thought it would be cool to 3d print it. But... now I'm going to order one, just waiting for JRC to get it back in stock.

two trillion, three hundred and nine billion, eight hundred twenty-seven million, three hundred eight thousand, two hundred eighty-three. Would you mind listing them all for us?:ROFLMAO:

Or..... https://jennysrc.com/collections/ar...wing-bumpers-ara102692?variant=20380725182518

Yeah, I was looking around and it would work! The rear upper gearbox cover (where the wing mount mounts) for the OUTCAST 4s and Typhon 3s are the same part number. But..... I would have to get the outcast skidplates. They are different.

Has it worked good for you?
I wont have it in until tomorrow. Currently trying to reno' my first floor so I'll try to slide that replacement in and test asap to let you know. Anything will work better than the one i have now which is dead. I kept thinking that something was stuck under the linkage or it was packed with snow. Was launching it off some ramps into 6" of snow.

I got my new servo (link down below). It works great.(y)(y) I had to trim the box where it goes in a little bit, but otherwise it is great. It mashed my thumb in between the servo box and the servo horn.:inpain:

@Ginglehopper, what version senton do you have? I installed mine at like midnight last night and found that the servo saver is a 23T. Found out the V3 comes with a 25T and previous versions have the 25T. So now I am waiting on a new servo saver.

I have the version 3. I noticed that too but I just used the servo saver that came with the servo. Yes, it is a little longer so I had to cut the wall piece off of the box thingy the servo mount on but it works fine now.

That is just the servo horn. The servo saver is typically fatter on the servo gear side and has a spring inside to allow force from the tires to be transmitted into the spring instead of jarring the servo gears and destroying it. Not sure how much abuse it can take without a servo saver on a basher.
