Any good ideas for an upgrade to a brushless motor and esc?
Here's what I've got in mine. Really the only things you'll absolutely have to replace when you power up is the spur gear, and the rear diff input shatf. The rest is not 100% necessary but I do suggest getting the center drive shift support as that things starts dancing at high speeds. The rest is just gravy but this is how mine is set up a d he's running like butter on a hot summer day in Texas;)

That will be too much power for the Mega. It'd self destruct with a 1900kv motor that is designed for larger scale vehicles. I'd stick with the 550 sized motors unless you plan on replacing literally everything on the mega. You'd have to go mod1 gearing, all steel and I'm pretty sure the center drive shaft would rip itself apart eventually under the stress of that...the mega is just not designed for that kind of torque.

I'd go with a 550 sized can, no lower than 3000kv and metal up the gears, diff input and get the center shaft support. Been running 4300kv .otor for quite a while, it has plenty of power and loads of speed on 16t pinion. I've been running goolrc stuff for a long time now and haven't had many issues with them. Why spend $170 when you can spend less than $100? ;)

I also used that same motor and esc for my typhon mega and it is not bad. I upgraded the motor to hobbystar 3660 size 3800kv to get more torque. I am running 21t pinion gear at the moment and might try 27t pinion just out if curiosity.

The only issue I run into with larger pinions is heat, I have a 3200kv that I was running for a while but on the senton I like the 4300kv with a smaller pinion better, it's more responsive;)

I forgot to mention, you'll want to change the connectors as well to xt90's if your going to run 3s or higher. Anything less than xt60 will bottleneck your power no matter how good your esc or battery. Had issues when i was running deans (T) connectors. It can cause your whole system to over heat super fast...did for me before the conversion.

Here's what I use whenever I get a new vehicle or battery that doesn't already have xt90:

Haha it just happened to me just now on my senton that the deans connector kinda melted on the inside and now the adapter and battery deans plug can't be separated. Guess I need to change to xt90. Is it xt90 or xt60?

It will fit both right? I will go with xt90 too if both fit.
What do you mean? The link above includes the male and female sides, you have to replace both sides...should work on any vehicle...adapters do not work since they don't get rid of the bottleneck so you have to switch the plug on the battery and the esc...should look something like the attached image. If you don't have a good soldering iron I suggest the one linked below, I've been super happy with it, for $50 it is amazing and gets hot enough to make short qork of soldering larger wiring ;)

I do have a soldering iron but I am kinda new to soldering. I did solder a few stuffs already and it works just not pretty. Xt90 is better than ec5? I have ordered the plug tho.

sry but i cant solder
Yes you can, it is easy. Heat up a soldering iron, don't touch the hot end with your skin, apply some solder to the tip of the iron, put iron tip on surface you want to solder and feed some solder in between surface and iron, keep applying until full coverage is achieved...never say you can't do it when it's a matter of not knowing how...that can be fixed ;)

You could bring it to your local hobby shop and see if they'll solder for you as well but trust me, your going to want to learn if you are going to make a hobby of RC ;)

I'll find a video for you that should help. Soldering is way easy and doesn't have to be pretty to be effective ;)

I promise, soldering isn't that difficult, you can do it, I believe in you :)

Anyone with at least one hand and eye can solder ;)

I also just learned soldering because of this hobby. Still sloppy but hey it works.
I learned back in 1989 because I often had to fix the garbage they sold us back then and I still make sloppy solder joints sometimes. Like you said, it doesn't have to be pretty as long as it works ;)

and + if i get the new blx gears and the new metal pinion gear installed, would i be able to run a stronger, say 4s motor/esc setup on it? the arrma brand ones.
