Hey Arrma nation.

The stock servo in the Talion EXB (S652) chatters…….not loud but noticeable. What causes this? It’s had this issue since the first run. Not in a rush to change it out until it fails.

cheers,
kev

id also like to know bc i hear samething... this isnt my first it is a replacement bc i burnt 1 up..but i also upgraded to a PowerHD 23kg which is a great servo for my kraton 4s

I say its usually a bad potentimeter in the servo that causes this. On its way out. I have recieved 2 brand new Savox 1210's that did this. Bad ones happen. But as servos wear, the potentiometer gets imprecise from output shaft wear. It struggles to center. Stays noisey and stutters, Sometimes a humming sound. If the servo still works effectively enough just drive like that till it is bricked. Nothing to help it at this point. Order a new servo at that point for when it breaks. What I usually do.

I'm 2 for 2 on Spektrum servos being bad right out of the box. Encoder problems on both (call it a potentiometer if you like). Stutters ("seeking") or false-zero issues in both cases. I went with Reef's replacements, no issues since. Didn't bother to waste my precious time getting replacements from Horizon, I just chucked them in the parts bin and moved on.
