Servo, fans aux switch set up

OK so I have touched on this in the past.

I never ended up using the servo but now want to utilise it in a slightly different way.


I have a jx 46kg hv servo which I plan on running off of a separate small 3s pack with an external bec.

I know I have to remove the power wire from esc to reciever.

I also want to run possibly 3 40mm fans via maybe a 4 into 1 on/off aux switch.

What sort of mah 3s lipo would be enough?

Has anybody else done something similar and have pics of set up?

Any 500-1500 MAH 3s pack will do that job. Why are you going to do that in the first place?

IMO yes. Adding all that extra weight in battery, fans, fan housing, wires BEC, ETC. you could get the same job done with proper gearing if heat is your issue.

Gonitro has a good point: having to use that many fans is a sign that the motor is generating too much heat, for whatever reason. It would be better to find the cause of all that heat and cure that rather than trying to throw money at the symptom, which is only a band aid. And all that extra weight would only put more stress on the motor, which in turn generates more heat.

OK so I got the hv model servo by mistake which really needs 11.1v minium. Can't find torque specs at 7.4v.

Max 6 fan is crap so there's 1 fan could poss get away with 1 on the can instead of 2.

Gearing. Going off my other 6s rigs and where I run anything after 17t I need fans and its a bit slow.
