I'm just weary of hearsay stuff you read online with no actual personal experience themselves.

I have had issues with some of my stuff before, but in most cases I'm just an exception, not a rule.

To be real, they are probably tired of hearing lies constantly about how their product is defective and that is why it broke. It pays to be honest in a dishonest world and I'm sure they would rather have an honest person as a customer and might try harder to keep that person as a customer then someone they know is lying.

I know how I would act if in HW's situation when someone is lying to me...

Yeah, sadly there are folks who will blame their mistakes or negligence on others.. which is one reason the manufacturers sometimes play hardball with warranty claims. Can't really blame them in that regard. At the same time, I would never file a claim for my own mistakes. Such as plugging a 6s pack into a 3s esc..which I could see myself doing BTW 🤪 I put XT90'S on all my stuff..2 through 8s, so in a frenzy to get back out there and bash, it could happen. But I honestly wouldn't file a claim for that.

I had a bearing on a HW motor disintegrate after a dozen runs and they treated me like a liar when I contacted them. Told me I must have misused it and refused warranty even though it was less than a month old and was setup properly (not an aggressive setup AT ALL) for general bashing on a 2wd rig, temps never got over 130.

I assume everything I buy from them has no warranty because they chose to treat me like $h*t. I get it that people will lie, but its garbage business practice to use that as an excuse for customer service to act like douchebags automatically. Horizon and Tekno have been the only companies in rc to give me good after the sale service.

Gotta watch what your buying on AliEx.. that price is just the motor. Not saying it isn't a good price, the description is misleading is all.
Same motor is $124.99 from Amain with $5 off coupon..
Was just going to say the same thing.
Yes, I wouldn't buy anything that expensive from AliEx myself. No warranty I bet.. heck, HW direct is a PIA to get warranty from I hear, AliEx? Forget it. LOL.
I would go G2 also, but more for the increased specs than BT. I have no interest in sensored, BT or a thermocoupled fan.. I see that failing when considering the environment these things are subjected to. Just me, I never embrace the latest tech though. Needs to be proven before I'll buy into it.😉

Problems from G1 or? I have G1 Max6 esc, solid. I use it in an Xmaxx on 8s with stock motor, solid.🤷‍♂️

Hobbywing only has a 30 day warranty anyway, you can buy a 1 year for like $30 iirc.

That sucks.. I have heard it both ways about HW. Good and bad.. I try to approach these things as if there's no warranty as well, unless it's DOA. Once I've put a pack through, I'm on my own. It isn't the bearing that's a big deal, it's the damage caused by a failed bearing, I hear that. Grr..

The extended warranty is not what I would call a warranty since you pay almost 2/3 the price of a new unit, pretty weak as far as warranties go:

So the Max6 G2 for example, you pay $30 for the warranty and if it fails, you pay another $70 for the replacement so $100 for the first "warranty" replacement on a $160 item. A second replacement the charge goes up to $100 so its still the same cost as the first overall. Also clearly states they can send you a used or refurb replacement if they want as it says "Replacement units from HOBBYWING are brand new or equivalent to brand new in performance and reliability." No thanks, lol.

You are better off doing their after warranty exchange, with shipping I paid $120ish for a brand new Max6.
Out of stock already. 🙁

Want bad ass steering in your 1/5 scale rigs? How about 20% off at NSDRC if you buy four or more of their servos. I’m not sure if it only applies for the big boy, RS 2500 V2, or others too. I needed four servos for my Monster Truck.
