Howdy nards 🧜🏻‍♂️. Just curious if anyone knows of a set of shocks that would be better all around than the Arrma 1/8 EXB sets? Seems like the K8S got the better upgrade selection surprisingly, ie Vitavon, Proline… has anyone tried the Integy shocks? I really do t like those genderless California douche bags… at all, but if it’s a good product, I’ll look past my petty personal feelings. GPMs as well, anyone? I haven’t seen PL shocks for 1/8!but maybe I’m missing something. I’m looking for primarily durability, I use Mugen shocks for when I’m looking for performance. I kinda want something that’s durable and high performance, Mugen shocks are great and very lightweight, but the shafts aren’t thick enough to endure. I’m not positive, but I think the ET 48 2.0 shocks are more robust that the MBX8TR shocks.
Price isn’t an issue, just quality. Maybe the EXB shocks are as good as it gets 🤷🏼‍♂️

What are your intentions and have you already explored more piston/fluid/spring testing with the Arrma adjustable coilover shocks?

You’re at a level in the hobby where there are no “bolt-on” universal aftermarket alternatives that will fit all applications like the plastic or toy grade stuff.

Happy Memorial Day!

I have been curious about these but to be honest. The factory K6 shocks I find to be really good. They will do pretty much whatever you want with tuning. As @Garcbomber said. Now if its just a cosmetic thing and you think they look cool. Buy them and do a review here and let us know! IF its durability you are after. Id upgrade the stock shock with the M2C stuff and worry more about the tower pins than the shocks themselves. Upgraded mine on my K6 to scorched rc 4mm

Well this is my main tinkering rig. I’ve put a lot of $ into it. Was a Mojave EXB and I converted it to a stretch truggy. I want a set that look sexy but have maximum durability for bashing.
I have 2 main setups, for speed runs and track timing I used all Mugen parts (arms, turnbuckles, driveshafts, shocks, steering blocks/hub carriers etc…. I also did a very thorough carbon fibre conversion (soon to include chassis) and I take all the bumpers and side rails off.
For the basher I put all the Mojave bumpers/rails, and Kraton arms, shocks and driveshafts, blocks, carriers turnbuckles etc… and the EXB towers.
Running MMX 8S/castle 1600 kv 1717, Protek 370tbl servo and 2 4S Protek LiHv Graphene 6500mAh race packs. Only thing that sucks is the Spektrum 6Ch AVC receiver and DX5C transmitter. I really need a Futaba or Sanwa Rx/Tx combo. There’s poop loads of other upgrades. I’ve put into that rig as well, but I’m not gonna bore you with that many details I’ve gone to far enough already lol . I should probably just make a second rig instead of switching back and forth but I can’t justify the $ as a sole provider for family of 5. Plus it gives me an excuse to do fluid swaps, bearing lube etc… and an OCD cleaning job. ive only been in the hobby for about 1 and a 1/4 years now so im sure eventually I’ll have both rigs.
I do also have an MBX8TR eco for a standard truggy, that’s got a Xerun XR8 Plus G2S/2200kv G3 combo. But I’m scared to hurt it, even though Mugen is supposed to be the most durable 🤷🏼‍♂️ So I haven’t completely forsaken the beloved 1/8 Truggy class.

I love Scorched, I have the super sexy carbon fibre hybrid chassis ordered, and I already installed a whole bunch of scorched upgrades. I’d love to get the steering blocks as well. But I kinda want to switch from the MMX 8S/1650kv combo to the MAX 5 V2 1200kv combo first. The MMX combo has tons of power don’t get me wrong but it’s glitchy and temperamental. Keep it as a backup.

I'm not familiar with those piggy back shocks. But I've heard/read good things about emulsion shocks on a K6, don't have any first hand experience however to say much else about them. Unfortunately there isn't a conversion kit for the EXB shocks from what I've gathered but, if you just happen to have a spare set of regular K6 shocks lying around, that would be something I'd consider trying out. I think it's M2C that makes those conversion kits if memory serves.

Personally I'd more than likely be deep into a desperate attempt at getting these fitted under there somehow but I suspect that would be, at its conclusion, an uphill battle that the tank I was trying to push up won.

These are for the UDR, in case you were wondering.
