A foam from our duratrax six pack flew out 6 feet in the air and popped in the air audibly from an hundred yards away.

It was a spectacular failure.

The duratrax 14mm beadlock rims and tires have been a series of disappointments. Between two whole sets of them and being unable to source foam for these tires and rims we have given up.

We've decided to go to 17mm and just got all the parts.

I've considered doing this a couple times, but haven't yet since my Bandito MTs are lasting forever (unlike Six Pack, which were terrible) and I got a set of stock tires through warranty replacement.

What is the total cost of your conversion with and without new tires?

I just ordered the hex and wheel nuts from jennysrc.com for $23 shipped the axels are like $16 for all 4. Or u could order the axels with the drive shafts on jennysrc.com for $33

I will take some side by side photos. The fortress are larger diameter overall. The rim is also smaller so there is a lot more foam and rubber if that makes any sense.

We had problems with our first set of duratrax beadlock rims. We got a set with six pack and a set with banditos.

Here are two kind of top view looks the first one is the fortress and the second was the duratrax six pack

The top picture is terrible because he body is not seated.
So the duratrax have a bigger offset, are a bit wider but smaller diameter?

It looked super bad ass with those duratrax on there.
Keep in mind we have typhon a arms on this thing.

Thanks for the photo's. Pretty sure the zero offset will make them unusable for me. I knew there were larger diameter, just hard to picture when it's numbers on a page vs a side by side.

We're losing width and gaining ride height. Less than ideal for the granite chassis IMO. But I figure having gigantic cushions on all 4 corners is going to keep our truck healthy. I think the zero offset thing is because they are used on the Mojave which to me looks like a 1/8 short course. But considering they come stock on a 6S we're hoping they last a long time on our 3S Frankenstein mega. You have any ideas for an offset 2.8" 17mm hex wheel with glued tire?
We looked at the bigger rims but figured they would shred the drivetrain on this thing.
We looked at the pro line 2.8" trenchers. That might have been a good idea.

Duratrax has some .5" offset 17mm 2.8 belteds. Easiest to search for it on ebay:
https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=duratrax 2.8 17mm

I got the trencher 2.8's on my stampede and they were good for a while, but got shiny/lost traction from driving on grass all the time. Plus, they seem a bit small now on the stretched chassis. Looks weird, not that I care about looks much, just hate the lack of traction and ground clearance since I run in grass 90% of the time.

Just wish duratrax offered all their tires on those wheels and I'd get a set of the faze MT's like the 12mm hex ones on my eJato. Grippy!

Just tried an old set of 3.2" RPM 1/2" offset revolvers on the stampede... but they rub the body I have and I think weigh too much.

Got some amazon specials showing up tomorrow I think, also 1/2" offset but a bit smaller than the revo talons in width and height, so will see how they fit.

Well, the RCStation tires/wheels withstood a bash session at the grass bmx park I run at. But I broke one of my traxxas "heavy duty cold weather" arms. It split at the hinge pin on the front arm on the leading edge. Not sure what impact broke it. Got a full set of orange arms coming in the mail. Soon, it will look like a orange safety cone driving around... probably best with how I drive. ;)

The larger OD wheels/tires seemed to do what I wanted. It seemed to run through the grass much easier. Between having slightly more ground clearance and larger OD tires, it just seems to roll along easier now.

I did a speed check on it and it's running 45mph up a slight grade. Going to bump the pinion up a tooth and see how it does. I have a blx185 esc and 4074 2200kv motor in it. Just running 3S.

Also ran into a new basher. First RC guy I've seen in a couple years. He's had a 4s kraton (I think) for 6 months. After running trucks together, he went and picked up a 6S outcast the next day!

Here's some footage with the new tires:
