This thing is a drift BEAST! I cannot be more excited about making it faster and tougher.

Regarding updates, I'm waiting for:
  • Set of new bearings.
  • 2x Turnigy Graphene Panther 5000mAh 3S 75C.
  • Limitless spool.
  • 500k diff oil.
I couldn't wait and went out to test it and after just 1 pack this is how the rear tires look.

Im not gonna lie, at the beginning I was a little disappointed to see the tires with that wear but I had so much fun that I really don't care, so I'm planning to get new tiresssss but I don't know if getting the hoons again or going for a harder compound like GRPs S7.

What you guys think?

Thanks

I tend to get a couple more runs out of the grp S5’s than the hoons. Did you see the new hoons?

Welcome to the Infraction club ? @shoyx ...

The hoons are great tyres but their lifespan is pretty dire, I bought one set of each compound of GRP's..?

I never knew the Hoons were going to come in different compounds, that's pretty cool..!!
Shame they don't do different colors though, I would love some chrome ones..?

???? The gold's have a shorter life though.. what's that going to be 1/2 a battery pack before changing them..????

Hahaha, here in Miami for sure 2 pairs of gold's per pack...

Anyways I was about to buy the silver but I will wait for them to be available in more places, because with shipping and tax it is ~$70... I'm getting GRPs S5 and S7.

I need to be subtle with the throttle until Thursday :(... I don't think I can.

As everyone that has one know this thing is a beast right out of the box and it brings so much joy to drive it. I'm really having amazing time with the Infraction.

After a few packs, there are a few updates that I think need to be done and I will explain what I did so far.

I started by replacing the bearings with rubber JimBearings. These have worked very well in my Kraton so far:

I shimmed both sides using 8x12x0.5 shims, 2 on the left side and 3 on the right side, slop is gone! thanks to @BashingBrian and hes thread about his infraction build.

Since I live in Florida I don't want to take any chance of overheating. I bought a Powerhobby Heatsink dual-fan combo since the Yeah racing was not available, it was cheap at eBay, I think I got it for $22 free shipping, why not right?

I finally was able to remove the motor after A LOT of heat and patience.

To my surprise, heatsink holes don't alight properly with the fan holes.

In the end, I manage to force it and it worked but I've decided to return it and get the Yeah Racing.

Time to upgrade the Center diff carrier since I notice that it was leaking.

I got the Hot Racing Modular.

Half-empty Differential after maybe 6 packs

All cleaned up with Brake cleaner and ready to be assembled.

I used the original shims and added an extra one to one of the satellite gears on each cross shaft. Also noticed to much slop on the diff outdrives in the cup side and added an extra shim on top of the o-ring. Let's see how it behaves with 500k oil.

New bearings and ready to go back where it belongs.

The dboots are gone and I've been trying GRPs S7 so far they are holding up the extensive drift pretty well.
