Slipper pad

How do you know when it’s time to replace a slipper pad?

If they are burnt and melted. I use to sand the weird black stuff off with sand paper. But I don’t bother to clean mine anymore unless I get grease on them it’s just another thing that changes as the pads wear in.

I’m not sure what they look like to start with are they just a metal ring like thing or Is it a metal thing That has stuff on it?

They kind of look like fiber glass pads with metal slipper plates in between check the exploded view diagrams. I wouldn’t bother it unless it’s not working right.

I bought a new spur gear with the same part number sticker on the package but the slipper pad indentation is different. Would u happen to know the number for the one I would need
