The brushed motor in my boys granite mega burnt up. So i tossed in a reedy set up that i took out of my rival mt10. The reciever for the slt2 radio is built into the speed controller that it came with. Do any of yall know if the reciever for the slt3 radio will work with the slt2 radio?

I'm assuming you mean SLT2 2-in-1 ESC/RX combo and SLT3 Transmitter?
It might work. It looks like Spectrum has SLT and DSM/R protocols, with DSM being the older one. If it's an SLT receiver, it "should work".

Its SLT protocol is compatible with the Spektrum SPMSLR300 (SLT Protocol Receiver) and legacy Tactic™ receivers, such as the TR325, that are included with some ready-to-run vehicles

I don't have a spare reciever laying around, didnt want to spend the 20bucks on one for it not to work. I may just order a cheap transmitter and reciever combo. For the time being i installed a traxxas reciever and using a traxxas tqi radio that came with my maxx. But im not smart enough to navigate the menu settings to set end points
