So here’s my lil patented invention.

I thought I’d share what I’ve been working on. I have patents already filed and the feedback I’ve received has been nothing short of amazing. Everyone tech I’ve spoken to is ready to buy one.

They are what I call OBD power and ground adapters. When diagnosing electrical problems inside the car it’s getting harder and harder to find a good ground or power source. So I decided to design and build working prototypes.

Both have built in circuit breakers with a 60 second reset. There is a base model and a deluxe model with LED display. This will give you battery voltage and you can keep an eye on the battery in case it gets too low. Also it could double up as a quick way to check alternator output.

Base = $29.95 and deluxe = $49.95

Hope you guys like it 🙏🏽

Great idea and design!
Very efficient in its functionality 👍

I'm presuming the black and red covered (male) prongs are the negative & positive contacts..

Have you considered designing it with female receptacles instead?
That way there's Way less chance of causing an electrical short , accidentally..

Just my observations.

The case isn’t very thick and the threaded studs are perfect for anything with crocodile clips - test light, power probe and multimeter

As for the short the built in circuit breaker will take care of that.

I see..
Understood.

Perhaps a small tab/block to divide (separator of some kind) to provide an additional protection from a short between those studs.
Just in case the circuit breaker ever fails to trip..
As an added physical 'backup' of sorts...

The cars obd connector is fused as well. Mine was just an extra precautionary measure. As I develop it more I’m sure there would be more ways to improve on it.

So
Your device plugs into OBD2 port and scanner plugs into your device ?
No. It’s just for electrical testing. I can make one of those if need be, but I’ll wait for people to start asking for it.

Most of the time we don’t use the scan tool and test circuits/control units at the same time.

Gotcha
I was confused at first ….
I went to the Ol Wyo Tech back in 94 for diagnostics….
Realized I did not want to work in a dealership ….
So my experience on auto computer diagnostics is limited.
I wish you well in your endeavor
No worries. Yeah I have various designs in mind, but I can only buy a few at a time based on my limited funds.
Interesting idea. Is it fused?
Yes. It has a fused circuit breaker
