So after last outing, it seems I have wiped out the spur gear. It’s original. Ordered a Hot Racing steel replacement. 48p 87t. Also will change the gear off of the motor. Using a Traxxas 19t. If anyone could tell me what actually caused this, I would appreciate it. I assume the motor came loose or I set it wrong. Please let me know.

That’s actually the new pinion. But there didn’t seem to be any damage to it. Below is the original pinion.
Even though the pinion is metal?

That makes me wonder if the pinion is correctly installed. Used rig, going by the way it was when I bought it.

Oh yeah. Should have taken a pic of the one I took out of my grandson's. He ran it around in a volleyball court until it stopped moving. I'm sure it was fun, but told him not to do that anymore. Lol. That sand buggered up that pinion.

We actually ran it in a dirt track in a local park. It had rained heavily a few days earlier and it wasn’t dusty to much, but the rain wore ruts into the side of the track. I remember it getting stuck there and my boy is just doing his best to get it out. Had to walk over and free it. Think it happened than.
