Can someone explain why am I pulling 400amp with my setup and only doing 120mph? No matter what I do I can't get any higher.. is the max limit on 6S?

Car is built correctly and it is very smooth and stable.

1520/1650-mmx8s-panther 5000mah-GP5 gears from and back- 34P/29S-No cap pack

Maybe I need a better esc? XlX2?

your blowing your power load to hard an fast......😆😅🤣😂🤣😅😆
surprised you can control it on takeoff at 90%.u want power to come in smooth an steady to 100% throttle 👍👍👍👍👍give it a whirl
pull pinion away from spur an make sure car rolls nicely, no binding ,bad bearing

Try gearing down IMO your geared way to high for that motor, that would be good gearing for 800-1100kv. I'd try 30t pinion and 34t spool and see what you get and go from there but seems like your way over geared especially for 6s.

On 30/34 I got 114 and went to 34/34 and got 117.

I am just thinking this is it for 6s. But I do have set of smc 4000mah 4s on order and will run it on 8s.

Most likely will make s cap pack to go with it.

I'd run it on 4s first.might be very surprised 🤷‍♂️

If you read the info on punch setting is other way around. As you go up on % the car is calmer and less punch.

I've always ran at 10%...can you zero in on pull???hardly any sag for 400+amps.my mmx8s pulls over 2v of sag with cap on 350ish pull..im always on 8s thou

I also had a question for you k-bash. In order to run the XlX2 did you had to do any modification on your typhon?

Before burning up 1st xlx2, I had it on kraton chassised typhon..drilled holes for mounting,
On mojave chassis I had to turn servo sideways.
Can't find pic of it ,but it was like this accross from motor

They should be fine.ive read smc need some cycles throu them before they start waking up...but 8s should be noticeable difference from 6s.did you pull log??should definitely tell ya something

I did pull the log. These batteries are very low on wh only 59. Logged showed 0.42wh on 8s compare to my 6s panthers that was 1.45.

Wasted $120.

So I went with 8s and 2xsmc 4000mah 120c batteries. Reason I got 4000 because both fit perfect in the typhon tray. Now my car is even slower than ,6s. I only got 106mph.

Are these batteries not up to the task?

They are definitely up to the task, but be warned while they can deliver, they are NOT designed for speedrunning.

I've had 4 of the 6 packs I have puff and split the cases, one catastrophically, because the cells have such a low surface area for the power they deliver. They are really designed for racers with size, weight, and cg as a priority. I had an extensive conversation with SMC product suppory specifically about this topic. They suggest running the much larger 4S packs, either the same series, or the DV packs, to increase the surface area of the cells and allow the packs to dissipate heat better.

The batteries are too small. The bigger regular size batteries have around 115wh. The one I got don't provide enough amps.

I've 105 with the cheapest,2700mah 4s few times ,packs get hot fast an puff, then done.these 2 packs have been throu hell an still chugging along.ive got them as high as 137 degrees bashing heavy mojave hard .I would think those smc would at least push you typhon to higher than 109.logs tell All.post a log

I got 106 with the smc vs yours 105. So they are correct. On 6s panthers I got 120.

Your max voltage is 32.3v. That's 4v per cell on 8S. Those packs weren't even close to charged, or you had one dead cell. You should be at 33.6v for 4.2v/cell on 8S.

Also, you still pulled 400A. That's pretty significant, the packs are delivering plenty of instantaneous power.

That's because this was my second run and Everytime I turn off the esc and turn it back on it will reset the log. First run I got 104mph. They were 4.20 each cell when I took them off the charger.

The problem is just the small batteries not providing enough amps.

Not sure how to fit 2 regular size 4s batteries.??
