Well guys this happened to me today, at 119 I hit the curb on left side and totaled my Lim! After complete teardown I discovered a rear diff sun gear split in two and left rear bearing out of its place in case, xlx2 is gonzo as it got hit hard and both wires and some of the epoxy came out with them as well as physical damage to the case, motor also damaged badly end bell is bent and screws that retain it made nice oval holes in the can where they thread into lots of broken parts, 2 brand new cnhl lipos done for as well ! 😭😭😭View attachment 169804View attachment 169804
Man that sucks! Hope you can salvage some parts and rebuild!

Brooooooo, that'll buff out. Try Liquid Lustre. I've seen that stuff do magic. (Anyone here old enough to remember it😁) Seriously, sorry for your loss😥

What caused the parachuting??did you do any changing to rear suspension. Parachuting can be solved, getting loose an mowing grass fixed??????? @Notorious J
This time it was a small bump in the road going through an intersection. Made 4 or 5 passes on a slightly different line, but think it touched a manhole cover on one run and bounced enough to get the nose up. All good. Damage is superficial.

Only 10mph shy! Glad to see rig is running good! And come on Phil pulls 151 in like 3000ft for his total run🤣

Until we get the years under the belt that Phil has, we should be very careful expecting his results from ourselves. Even when he gets a bad start he’s able to get the car settled and finish a pass. I know that I get rattled and have to abort before I make an over correction and end up crashing. Man is a legend

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

So I went out today to make another pass with the Mojave and had an interesting outcome. Last pass was 118mph on 34/39 gearing using the SRD packs. Ambient temps were near 90F that day. Here is the log

Today I went back out running 35/39 gearing (one more pinion tooth) and was only able to hit 117mph using the same exact SRD packs and no other changes. The only other thing different was that ambient temps were 15F lower, just under 70F. Here is the log

Mojave 117mph Log.jpg

As you can see the ESC and motor both ran warmer on the 118mph pass. I have to assume the SRD packs were warmer on the 118mph pass too. I have more SAGA gears on the way. I swore I had more gears on hand, but could only find 34T, 35T, and 39T in 8mm bore on hand. I have 36T, 37T, and 38T on the way and will be able to gear up slowly very soon.

I also might go back out with my parallel 8S packs before changing gearing again as well.

Really odd, and .3v more sag is all too.

Maybe a slight change in wind?🤔
Lol maybe a slight tailwind on the 118mph pass. I would guess a 5mph tailwind on the 118mph pass and dead calm today on the 117mph pass. I have to think the lower ambient temp and humidity today had more of an effect tho. 🤷🏻‍♂️

It probably all added up in the end..

Went out this morning to do some shakedown passes on the Typhon after loosening the pillar ball retainers a bit and making sure there was NO binding in the steering. Still same $hit, tracking left, then correct and tracking right. I'm ready to take this thing to NTB and get a front end alignment! :ROFLMAO: Seriously, now I'm back to thinking somethings wrong with the servo again. 🤷‍♂️ The servo is programmable, and I did adjust it out of the box. Next move is to go back to factory settings with the servo. Really frustrating!

I had these issues until I removed all of the slop out of the car and made sure the front toe was dead zero. If you have toe out, like stock, it will cause these issues too. Maybe give each steering link a 1/4 turn to add a slight toe in.

I’ve done everything 👆🏼and still having issue. I’m not gonna give up, I bet it’s something stupid that I’m overlooking.

Remove the link from the servo and push it by hand to see if everything is smooth. If that's the case I would hold the linkage with one hand and push against the tires with the second to see if something gives. If all is fine then it's either the servo, something in the drivetrain or maybe a radio setting (AVC)?
That's all I can think of🤣
