I just bought a 4092 motor and going to run 4s. I bought a 22t pinion mod 8. I'm not sure if it was packaged property because I'm not getting a good mesh

You need a mod 1 pinion. It's pretty obvious from the picture that the teeth & gaps of the spur are larger than the teeth & gaps of the pinion. All Arrma 1/8 6s trucks uses mod 1 gearing.

I haven't had to deal with gears and for some reason I was thinking it was a mod o8

Might just be the picture, but the big gear looks bent severely?

Yes it's the picture, I am showing this to see the pitch of the gears. Close enough that I could not tell until trying to set the mesh
