So I am super excited right now. My Daughters 14U Softball Team qualified for the California State Softball Tournament. So After 8 weeks of practicing 4 days a week and playing 3-5 games Sat –Sun, we get to drive 2.5 hours to the Middle of Nowhere (Lancaster, CA). No really I am excited, it just that the All Star Season takes a toll on the players and the parents, and the wallet. We were late qualifiers, so we could not book hotel rooms in time. We are taking a buddies travel trailer and staying at a local RV park. Anyway, Wish us luck. This is the biggest Stage my kid has ever competed on, and I’m just super geeked out right now. First game is Friday at 2:00pm, which means we are just going to leave tonight and wake up in the desert. Win or lose the first game, we play on Saturday. We keep winning and it’ll be 3 games on Saturday, and 2 more Sunday. Let’s just say we will probably be done early on Saturday and have 2 days left to find places to bash the RCs.
I’ve got my Kraton as dialed in as it’s going to get. All the parts and tools I could possibly need and 4 Freshly charged, brand new 3S batteries all packed up and ready to go.
My kid have a 1/16th Team Ass Buggy and a 1/16 Team Ass MT with 7 freshly charged batteries.
And a DHK WOLF 1/10 FrankenBuggy, (way faster than it should be). I’m going to use the 2S batteries I was using for the Kraton. The Kraton seemed to put too much strain on those batteries, so the 1/10 should make it easier on the cells. Lucky I ordered a deans to XT90 connector a year ago. I had ordered it thinking I would need it, but then never used it.
My old 2s Batteries for the DHK were ONYX brand, and one had puffed so bad I was scared to pick it up. And 2 other ONYX batteries I had were puffed bad enough that I would be scared to run them one last time. All are discharging in Salt water baths now. I should have taken a picture of the one battery, as a warning to all regarding ONYX brand batteries. I know all of them can go bad, but these were less than a year old and only have 15 charges thru them.
Wish my kid luck with her tournament, and wish me luck in my search for spots to bash.
