Granite stock Voltage too fast in reverse

I saw similar questions in other threads but wasn't able to find the answer. Wondering why my son's stock Voltage is way faster in reverse than forward. I've got the throttle trim turned down for the forward direction but the reverse still seems to stay the same speed which is way too fast. So turning down the throttle trim appears to work for the forward direction but not reverse.

Is this because of the way the ESC is programmed which I'm assuming can't be changed on the cheap stock ESC?

The voltage transmitter has two throttle trim dials. One for reverse and one for forward.
