Evening all. Can I do a straight swap from this to the v5 from jennys?

I have a hobbywing esc and trying to eliminate the issues I'm having by replacing all old with new gear

yes but you will need adapter leads from the esc to motor otherwise you will not be able to plug the motor into the esc. which esc is it by the way

This is the esc. Got a brand new one as a spare in the deal. Not sure if there any good or not. I already have the pins attached to the esc.

Ordered a new Tekno pinion today so see how that goes before ordering a new motor. Can't see the shaft being bent but running out of options really.

Is that spektrum motor the exact same power as the one I have just a newer model?

sorry your ok with that esc the motor will fit straight in I have two its the old quicrun 150a esc. had mine for years there really good esc's you just don't have the 7.4v option on it. it's only 6.0v

Or if you want a bit more power you can go for a (Hobbystar) 4082 or 4282 motor at RCJuice.com depending on which kv motor you want; somewhere in the 1600-2000kv range. I ran a 4082 motor with that quicrun esc. A 4092 motor might be a bit too much for it.
You’ll need three adapter cables since those motors have 6.5mm cables, but those should cost you less than 5 bucks.

As long as I won't hit another issue if I decide to swap the motor. Ended up going with a Tekno pinion, see if this solves me issue

Just after a working car at the moment mate. Going to see if the pinion is the issue before getting a new motor. Thanks for the info though dude

What issue are you having?
Tekno pinions are great BTW.👌

Isn't a 20t a lot of gear for that motor?

😂 You not seen all my posts with this car then. Well at the moment I bought a 6s battery and getting horrible grinding noise. Checked all diffs and there fine

20t is what was already on the car when I bought it, along with the 50t spur so just stuck with it really.

Be sure to check out your bearing.

Have you checked the motor bearings? The stock ones start to get full of dirt ar some point or just fall apart. Result; a completely stuck or grinding motor. If the rotor coating holding the magnets is still OK, the fix usually is two new motor bearings.

The 8BL150 should be able to run a 4092 Rc juice has them on sale for like $50 right now.

The motor was running fine on 4s so not sure if it's the bearings on the motor. Is it easy to take apart and check?

that's what I was thinking if the car is the kraton 6s v5  I use a 14t pinion on all my kraton 6s cars and there fast for bashing maybe 55 mph or so. the motor also gets hot on a 14t pinion could not imagine it on a 20t. would be about 80 mph on a 20t pinion I would think. unless he's speed running
