Good morning guys hope y’all having a blessed weekend!!

I was tightening up some screws before I take it out. Tried to tighten the grub screw on the 46t center diff and it won’t tighten

Any ideas why this may have happened or any recommendations

Thanks
It’s this grub screw

It happened because you’re screwing steel into plastic and it’s very easy to strip, the fix would be to go a size up in grub screw and strip thread it in there. You can drill it out and tap it but we are talking plastic. OR, buy a new diff case.

Just clean all well enough (solvent) and use some silicone adhesive or Shoogoo, then screw in gently. Let dry well Before fillng it. Or better, just buy another. When you buy a new cup/case you will have to screw in a new included grub screw. So I highly advise you to BE Gentle this time. Just slightly screwed below flush with the cup is all you need. Should bottom out. You probably don't even need to touch this grub again. They don't loosen anyway. There's no real reason to use it. I do, to release overfilling pressure and excess sil. oil after a rebuild. Most don't ever even do this. Supposely the reason for the grub is to access the Sun gear pin inside. Needle nose pliers or tweezers work in this regard just fine. Upgrade Metal diffs don't even have them anyway.
Hopefully only happens one time. Lesson learned.
