Purchased a bargain from Facebook MarketPlace - which was in a bit of a sorry state and has taken a considerable amount of love and effort to bring back to life.

The story so far:

This Talion was in a bit of a poorly state when I picked it up and it has gone through an almost complete ground up restoration to bring it back to life again.

To begin, it has a thorough clean and dosed with GT85 with PTFE.
  • New body including pins. Spare body that has seen better days also included which will be fine for bashing, but it does have splits at the front and back - hence the new one included.
  • Front body mounts replaced.
  • New chassis installed which has a minor imperfection on the front end but nothing major at all.
  • All three diffs have been stripped down, thoroughly cleaned and new fluids replaced. 60k in the front, 300k in the centre and 20k in the rear. All diffs, input gears etc are all in great condition with no noticeable wear and tear. Fitted diff assemblies have been greased as appropriate with water repellent grease externally.
  • New DS3225 servo installed.
  • Complete new EXB steering rack installed and the spring is pre-shimmed with washers to remove the slop from the steering. This is a much better alternative two snap pins etc.
  • New EXB top plate installed.
  • New EXB front upper suspension mount installed.
  • New stock front and rear shock towers installed. EXB shock stand off's fitted to the rear shock tower to give a little more strength.
  • All shocks serviced and fluids replaced with 1000CST.
  • RPM wing mount installed. The wing is a little tatty but loads of life left in it.
  • GPM braces installed which are an upgrade from the stock plastic ones that were there.
  • RPM front bumper installed.
  • New centre front dog bone installed.
  • New EXB tower-to-tower brace and brackets to be installed - awaiting parts
  • New battery tray and reciever box installed.
  • Tactic RX/TX which is a really good quality setup (which I have on my other Talion).
  • Virtually brand new Arrma BLX 185 ESC and 2050kv motor installed.
  • New EXB motor mount and top cover installed.
  • Rollover hoop re-instated with new EXB pins and clips.
  • New ESC plate used and the ESC/switch are screwed on. ESC installed with a 3M double-sided pad in addition to the screws to give it some cushioning.
  • Various screws replaced around the car with stainless versions - I haven't changed all of them but a fair few have had to be replaced.
  • Proline Badlands all around.

Managed to get the two new Proline Badlands wheels and tyres fitted today as well as the centre brace and new front centre dog bone.

Replacement shell turned up today which looks good.

Pretty much finished barring fitting the RPM bumper

Looks nice, those original badlands are wonderful, don’t know why they get so little love here. Kind of wish they stuck with the one piece wheel though. Great rig!
