Tamiya Iridescent paint on my Kraton 6s

I’ve been sick with Covid-19 symptoms for the past 24 days and my wife and kid are up at her sisters house for the summer. Although I believe the virus to be gone, my lungs are still trying to heal themselves. I got stir crazy and ordered a clear body and some paints for the Kraton. I was expecting the color change to pop a little more than it actually does but am still satisfied with the results.
Main color Tamiya PS-46 Iridescent Purple/green
Trim color Tamiya PS-47 Iridescent Pink/gold
Backing Tamiya PS-5 Black

I did my Typhon speed runner the same colour last year and it's such a great colour scheme I'm surprised you don't see it more often.

Pops best in bright sunlight.

I always wondered why they say fir this color to back with black? I would think white, dark green or dark purple backing could add some more pop.

I also was thinking to back it with something else but read about someone else’s failed experiment. So I went with black. I believe the guy said the green doesn’t show if backed with other colors.

What if you back PS-47 with white, would it make it pop or would the irridicent be lost in the white?

I tried this with some plastic water bottles and wasn’t impressed. I only had white and gunmetal grey but didn’t think either worked well. The black was the most effective.
