Kraton The little pin in the center of the EC5 connector

Hey guys. What is the tiny pin in the center of the EC5 connector for? Is that something we just ignore for the purposes of LiPo battery connecting? My battery packs and charger have the Traxxas connectors, so I had to make adapters. It doesn't look like the plugs that came on my Kraton make use of the center pin, but I really don't want to mess anything up. Thanks.

That’s the new IC5 connector. Like the other said it’s for the “smart” system. The IC5 and 3 are backwards compatible with the EC5 or 3 so you’re good.
