I'm scared to dive into soldering, I already got the fx888d. What else do I need besides 60/40 lead solder? Or should I get 63/37?
I don't have any idea what you talking about.

Thanks! What tip cleaner/sponge/flux do you recommend? Any other accessories?
I don't do alot of soldering. Just when needed. I have a Weller 140/100 watt gun. I just file the tips if they get built up. I also use a mini torch. I replace tips if necessary. Sorry I don't have much more info.

I just looked up on purchases in eBay and the surpass is 2845 4400kv, I measured it by eyeballing them up with a ruler and the surpass looks to be around 4mm longer then the spectrum, without taking it out I can't get exact but it's definitely longer, and I thought the spectrum was 4500kv, I did run Typhon again on 3s and definitely still has some cogging off start when you hit it fast but once you get past it then pours on hard and then it will flip if you don't let off a little. I'm not getting any cogging with the surpass, power right there off the start. But the all metal diffs are 50.00, then you get bunch of other stuff like aluminum shocks, 40.00, metal out drive cups, adjustable tie rod, aluminum hex, let's say 30.00, so that's 120.00 without brushless system and car is 189.00:so I'm not expecting it to be as good as a stand alone system. I'll drop the gearing since I got bigger tires and should probably do that anyways, they gear them for the tires they put on but if you just to keep it moving a little then cogging is is not an issue and top end will definitely get your attention, hope the weather holds out so I can host it the way to it sits, thinking maybe around 60mph left the way it is.

Just to add I was definitely nervous doing that high speed run, worried that air might get under and it goes flying or how good the steering would be and it was very stable, I'm thinking a front spoiler like associated has for their buggies would add a little more down force, it goes between the shock towers. Definitely fun car that will satisfy your need for speed, Mojave with the big body, IDK, but this one stays pretty planted

My Mojave stays very planted at speed, surprisingly planted. I am running the Furitek system with all the metal upgrades. Tuning the shocks plays a big role in the stability. Granted, with the stock 19t pinion I am only getting 40 mph, but still super impressive. A couple new pinions and motor mounts should be delivered tomorrow, so I should be able to get the speeds that the new BLX is getting since it uses a 22t pinion. Excited to find out!
Also excited for my BLX Typhon to get here hopefully Thursday 😃

On the corner balancing scales for your pleasure.

Is that the Sky RC kit? I have been thinking about getting those, more for the rock crawlers though.
Looks to be pretty close balanced, will a little more preload on the right front and left rear shocks balance it out a bit more?

Yea it’s the SkyRC kit. I’m gonna test it like this and do some more fine tuning. I swapped the receiver/battery position. Had the battery in the rear before.

It's easy, don't worry about the solder, you need the flux, it's the paste you put on whatever your soldering, makes the solder suck right to it before things get too hot

You need a cheap 60 watt soldering iron, a wet sponge, solder and flux, don't need expensive equipment

For glitch this is what I do for connectors, strip the insulation off the wire, take some flux and put it on the wire, work it in with your fingers twisting the wire so it stays tight, not all frayed, now touch your iron to the solder to get some on the tip and touch the wire, you will see it suck right in to the wire. For the connector, xt 60:or whatever, have it clamped into something cause your not going to hold it, same thing, put some flux where you want the solder and touch the tip to some solder to get some on it and now touch the connector where you put the flux, it will flow onto to it should only take couple seconds, too long and you will melt plastic on connector, now that there is solder on both, so hold wire against correct spot on connector and hold soldering iron across both, so iron contacts wire and connector surface, it will melt quickly, as soon as it melts get the iron away and hold in same position for like a second and it's done, that's how I do it others please chime in if you have better way cause I'm sure a lot of people could use the info.
