So I've been a bit busy, bashing, fixing, repeating, etc. Currently waiting on my Hot Racing rear shock bodies. Bought a new body, Red/Black, creased the roof within 10min, said F that, gonna keep it aside for lights, mods, etc. Took my beat up Red/Blue body and turned it into "The Weirdo"

Sanded the outside of the shell, reinforced the cracks and holes with Gorilla Tape, masked off the windows, head and tail lights then put multiple coats of spray on, truck bed liner, to toughen her up. Turned out pretty good ?, and to set the whole thing off, I added a pair of googly eyes! OMG YOU HAVE TO SEE her debut run, If you have a Instagram and want to see what I'm talking about, my Instagram page is 904_Bashing (sorry if that's not allowed here)

I've done A LOT of repairs since my last post, and I'll get started updating my log today. (I hope)

I like what you did. Awesome. I like the Cars's theme eyeballs.
The body is more basher friendly now.
I can appreciate the amount of time and effort it takes to do this(y)

Take some slow mos of jumps. Ya might see the eyes move?

Seeing as you're willing to put in some work. May I suggest a tailguard to prevent that tail damage? Traxxas Maxx tailguard, cut out the middle, dremel'd out the screw inserts. It has stayed on through countless hard bashes with just double sided heavy duty Gorilla tape. Extremely durable, this is 7 months of wear and tear.

Don't suppose you have a link for the roof and bed guard?

Traxxas Maxx tailguard (don't get the X-Maxx one by mistake)
https://www.amazon.com/Traxxas-8912-Tailgate-Protector-Black/dp/B07ZDL33BY/ref=sr_1_1?crid=3R6Y10O4IX9JR&dchild=1&keywords=traxxas+maxx+tailgate+protector&qid=1597430728&s=toys-and-games&sprefix=traxxas+maxx+tai,arts-crafts,136&sr=1-1

The roof guard is heat moldable plastic. These cards are the perfect width. I just cut one in half and used hot water to bend it fit the roof curve.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B...sin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1&&tag=arrma-20

Both stay on with Gorilla heavy duty double sided mounting tape.

So I ended up buying an Integy product, the dirt guard, works pretty damn good TBH. Had to build a "firewall" to cover a spot the guard doesn't, but overall, I'd say its a good buy. After covering the gap, 99% of dirt is kept out of the chassis, with just the guard alone, 75 - 80%. A Velcro strap sewn on to the guard where I built the "firewall" would be the awesome design change Integy could pull off rather easy.
Note the power module before guard and after guard pictures, the after didn't have the "firewall" yet.

You should shoe goo and drywall tape your bodies, they won't bend or wrinkle at all. Effectively makes it almost bulletproof. Tape doesn't hold a candle to shoe goo ;)

Dude, if I put that on my kraton it'd overheat in 2 minutes here in Texas...already hitting thermal cuttoff after 20 minutes and that's with open air flow and fans all over. May have to go back to the stock pinion till the heat gets below 100°f :(

I thought about that. Hence why I put a motor fan on my Granite. But tbh, I haven't hit my over heat cutoff (yet). And it's "feels like) 107 here on the days I run her. If I'm running on grass or something I take it off. But if we are going to hit the dirt hills... Guard on. Bearings aren't cheap lol

And thanks I'll take a gander at the shoe goo suggestion.

Good morning everyone. Update time. So if you haven't noticed, I'm kinda going backwards in my build log, just because it's easier to add recent pictures and then delete them so I don't have to scroll and scroll and scroll ??‍♂️.

So next up is from August 6th (I had to check my IG RC page to lock in the date ?)

She went through a small overhaul. New steering blocks, slider shafts, pivot balls, body mounts, shock rebuild kit, RPM front A arms, AND the Red/Black body I wanted from day one. Ended up striping a driveshaft/diff screw, busted out the trusty T bits to fix that. So yeah, that was a fun one.

After I was done, my GF demanded I clean up my garage so I didn't takeover our dining room table ever again ??? so now I have a proper workstation.

Did a little work today, all were "first's"- repaired the shielding on a motor lead, did a tire repair, also played around with some moldable plastic cards that @GRC pointed me at. Oh, AND I bed-lined the underside Scarlett too (Red/Black body)

ANNND my #hotracingrc rear shock bodies came in!!! I know what I'm doing tonight!
