Kraton This Truck Ruined Me.

It's like buying an rc, and getting a free gym membership all in one! Totally worth it!!😂😂
From what I've gathered the core truck is pretty much the same. Maybe some tweaks to the bracing, not sure. The tires, motor, servo are the known to me differences. Not sure how much change in the esc.
:) funny it has taken a lot of thinking about before buying this beast. got a good deal from the model shop I go to. seems well worth it when you see what your getting for the money. its the maintenance I worry about especially the tyres. I am impressed how good it runs though

What rig, what electronics? 15 minutes may be a stretch for 5000's in a stock Xmaxx, but close. The extra weight of the Arrma, especially with the new bigger motor will need more mah for sure. Which is a downside to them I feel. I bought CNHL 6200's with my Xmaxx when I bought it. Perfect balance IMO between performance and run time. I wouldn't bother with 9 or 10,000mah for an TRX 8s..kills the handling for me. I focus more on handling with my rc's, not all out power or run time.
your brothers 8s outcast max6 11000kv combo you said hes running 5000 mah lipos

The way I see it, the v2 8s Arrma is well worth the $1k when compared to what the v1 was for basically the same price. No brainer if you will. As to the TRX 8s being worth $1k? Well yes, and no. I mean clearly there's less substance, but then they don't need nearly as much power to achieve the same speeds since they're so light. Run time is clearly in TRX's favor.
Tire wear is definitely a concern to me with the 8s Arrma's especially. My brother tore a sidewall first outing. Hopefully a fluke but, it hurts having a brand new rig with blown tire on day one. It's not like BF's aren't good tires either. After seeing the O8S in action, firstly I'm blown away at how fast and agile it is for such a heavy rig, then I'm like oh man, tires are gonna be an issue!!😂😂

30+pound needs (2) 10k-11k+ mah 4s packs, to get 10 run times. The lipos alone can cost almost 1/2 the price of an 8s if you want the good stuff.
Am I wrong?
I am used to 10 min runs with hard running my 6s stuff. Not an issue for me.
But surely 5-6k Mah cheapo packs wont cut it with an 8s platform.
Am I right?

the car in england is 1100 pounds thats 1362 dollars. think I would be crying my eyes out if I ripped a tyre the first time out. I won't run mine on road and try not to run it on wet grass and the like so hopefully tyres should last

Well heck, 3.75v is storage level. I'm sure you can get more run time out of them, the first few cycles are always short in my experience .

Idk, I don't buy fancy pants high end batteries. I can say this, my brother only has TRX 6700 4s and Spektrum 5000's. The TRX batteries don't fit the O8S battery trays and the Spektrum's work fine. Albeit a short run but, they seem fine. As to 9 or 10ah, I have no idea. Gotta handle like crap though.

I'd say I get at least 15 mins on 8500mah packs. Not really any need for expensive batteries IMO, I run Amazon specials for almost everything. I do have a few sets of SMCs that I'd say are little more punchy, but not really to the point that I'd buy more out of need.

It’s a great truck. The only thing I hate about it is carrying it back up 3 flights of steps to my apartment lol. Sucker is heavy.
That’s why I printed a handle for mine lol

I have the Outcast and ran it with a 26 tooth for several runs but when I put a 28 on it it really made a difference. So far I don’t think these trucks really need bigger electrics. That don’t mean it won’t get them though. I wish someone that has already done it would chime in and show pictures of exactly what it takes to get it fitted
does it get a bit toasty with a 28t pinion on though  could do with higher speed fans on maybe

I am impressed with mine only run it once no crashes its very nimble for something that size and easy to drive aired it out a few times and lands great.
Seems to be a great buy I am excited to get one eventually! The good thing I have all winter to save up and make some room haha

Nice! My brother is in a similar situation, upstairs apartment. I guess I can understand why he's not too crazy for packing them up and driving a half hour to my place sometimes. Me? I travel or carry nowhere!! Luckily I have 5 acres in a pretty rural area.😉🍻

When the 8s line was first released, I remember many stated these were so heavy to lug around.
And many created a leash strap with a handle and attached and clipped to the front end, to simply pull them on the ground. Much easier IMHO.
Some used large Carabiners simply clipped to the front control arms to attach them.

I think I might still be able to fit into a Radio Flyer wagon? Anyone know the weight capacity of them? Let the rc pull ME to the bash spot?🤔👍😛😂
Needs to be capable of around 330lb.. 290 (me) plus a couple batteries, twinkies, chips, soda..might need 2 wagons?😂😂🍻

Seriously though, I can see an 8s rig pulling a wagon with other rc's, batteries and some tools? One of those wagons with air filled tires? Be sure and save a set of batteries for the pack out..hopefully no breakages. Worst case you pull the wagon urself.😉

People who say stuff like this usually have never driven one.
I drive a stock Prius and I'm here to tell you, it can kick the doors off of most small cars on the road of a similar age. Especially when I put it in sport mode. Yes, the Prius has a sport mode.
Remember, it has two different power train motors in it. I equal it to a civic with an electric motor boost when you need it. Or a bike rider on an electric bike.
I can see where it gets its reputation as most people drive is sparingly because it is known for it's great mileage, but if you want to put the hammer down, it can move.
I get that you were comparing it to a dragster but the truth is, it is by far not the slowest, or least powered vehicle you could have picked.
Lol. Hardest I’ve laughed all day.

Sorry all this Prius talk just reminds me of that one scene from Horrible Bosses.

I worked for a toyota dealer for many years, the Prius is towards the bottom end of vehicles for performance in regards to acceleration. Even the humble yaris has a greater rate of acceleration. Sorry to drop the truth.

Did you ever drive them in sport mode?

What is the big difference between the v2 and the v1? Other than the electronics. I went to the arrma site and looked up the part # for the front a arms. They are the same numbers. In my v1, I have the max 5 esc with a 1100kv castle motor.

you get a red wheel wrench and most importantly you get red decals on the body (y)
