80c is more then enough, I was just making sure you weren’t running 20c, 5 year old hobbyking packs.?

Definitely sure it’s cogging? Nothing slipping in the geartrain? Pinion tight? How old is the motor and ESC? I’ve had two instances of large scale motor cogging and in both cases, I had bad motors. One was my fault...It had been overheated (badly). The second one was just a fluke and replaced under warranty. In both cases it solved motor cogging at slow speeds.

I know you checked, but make sure your bullets are all tight in the ESC. Take the wheels off and put it on a stand. Strap it down if needed. Go 1/4 throttle and move the wiring around to see if that helps with the low speed cogging. And lastly, if you have another set of batteries, try that too.

Thats a lot of pinion for a 1050kv motor. Try droping down a few and see if it's better.

Finally got it running perfectly. Dropped the punch setting down to 4 from 5 and it wheelies on demand now. No stuttering off the line.

Oh man, 1000 amps? A max5 is never carrying 1000 amps for any time lol. That aside, yeah I doubt it’ll cut out... it’s a 5th scale esc and a 5th scale motor.

Way less than a thousand amps right there man.

Realistically the only way to get 1000 amps out of an RC is a 5th scale that can hit 70mph. Take that truck and hammer the throttle from a standstill... maybe 1000 amps.

I had the Leopard 5892 1090kv it is 5.5kW and my X-Maxx had more power than it coul dhandle. For K8s I wouldl ike to get the V2 5892 1200kv it is 6KW and as for 58113 1050kv it is a bit overkill with 8kW and you will never be ablee to utilize the power but for the fun factor go for it

for x maxx what you recommend between leopard 1050 and 1200?..for max performance

Hahahaha, you're not kidding overkill. Just took my k8s exb for its maiden voyage Saturday. Has a leopard 58113/bl5 combo with just a 30/47 gear. Tops out at 55mph and it's a total wheelie machine at any speed. Anything more than 1/4 throttle in dirt is totally useless. I have a 34t and 39t pinion but I'm not sure they're a good idea for me just yet. I can't even come close to handling it as it is. It's pure ridiculousness, I love it!

Pretty sure the max is 56mm x 113mm but others will have to confirm that. Maybe 58mm is possible with another motor mount.

I'm running the leopard 58113 in the k8s exb. No issue with the diameter. With 30/47 gearing its about 1mm from the steering arm at full lock. That's the only potential issue with clearance.

What does everyone think of pairing a leopard 58113 with the Max5? Just testing the waters and trying to determine what way i would like to go. Have the M2c chasis arriving soon!!! Next is motor and electronics so thays why I ask. Any advice is always appreciated. Stock it has amazing components compared to vehicles ive had in the past.

So how’s the M2c chassis holding out for ya ? Mines doing great. My max 5 works brill with my leopard hobby 870kv. Now paired up with a 400amp mgm. I’m going for off road record in my Kraton. Running 800kv hobbywing with max5 in outcast.
