I recently upgraded my son's wheels and tires to the Proline Badlands MX28. Should I have changed the pinion gear?

I don't have the numbers in front of me but I don't think they are much taller or shorter than the stock tires. If that's the case, then no. No need to change gearing. If they are markedly taller then you could gear down. If shorter, gear up. But I think you are fine ???

Ok just wondering cause was looking at changing tires on my Senton and tires I'm interested in are 10mm taller and some say I need to and some say maybe not

MX28 vs the Ragnarock? MX28 are 128mm and the Ragnarock are 130mm. 2mm smaller isn’t enough to change a pinion in my opinion. (Sorry for the rhyme). ??
