Ok guys so I have been meaning to do a Build thread for my Infraction speed run car “TRPL DG8S”
I won’t go through my whole story of my past speed runs before I started understanding more about. But yet take you down the road I am on now!
So here we are……
I wanted to take this setup and clean it up a bit. Not to mention add a few upgrades.
Like Raz’s perfect pass carbon fiber kit! I opted for the Felony one because it has the bigger front splitter. I wanted a little bit more area to try and keep this thing planted. Anyways, more on that later.
So I tore the whole thing completely apart.
And one of the things I wanted to do was move this massive XLX2 down to where the factory Esc usually sits. So of coarse I had to do some cutting.
That’s much better! And it worked out awesome!
That will help even out the weight on both sides!
Next I was having some issues with my servo so I asked @jondilly1974 what he recommended and he suggested the DS3235 servo off Amazon. To further help improve my steering and stability I ordered a servo saver eliminator from Scorched RC. Man this thing is nice!
I had to do some wire maintenance on the servo as well and shorten it up a bit.
Next on the list was a full ceramic bearing kit from RC SPEED SECRETS
While I was in the process of changing all the bearings. I thought this would be a good time to switch both front and rear diffs to the all metal ones! Now here comes the disclaimer! These diffs will NOT work in the infraction straight out the package.
If you look at the bottom of both, it’s shiny. That’s because I had to take a deburring wheel and grind them way down and then polish to a shine. If not the input gear just grinds it and it doesn’t turn well at all.
I also took out the 2 braces that go from the diff housing to the bottom of the frame. I figured the center brace would be fine.
Man it’s looking so clean!
As I do some more I’ll update you all! I hope you guys enjoy!
