Hey guys in the progress of Truggifying my V4 Typhon.

I like the Mx28 and the Trenchers... any other combinations that are Size 2.8 w/ 17 mm hexes?

Just want to explore options before pulling trigger on tire/wheels.

Thanks!!

I think the MX28s are the best tires I’ve owned for a rig that size. Others concour. I did not like the 2.8 Belted Trenchers and took a big loss when I sold them.

I agree. I still have my belted trenchers and also another set of trenchers. I don't love them as much as I do many others and the badlands are hard to top.
If we're looking for something different than the norm, maybe there's a stock tire from a different brand that could be fun to try?
I also like the look of the masher but haven't tried any yet.

Could also look at Duratrax? Haven't checked to see if they have anything new in a while....

At 108mm those are on the small side.

Looks like the LP's are 108mm and the regular Trenchers are Height: 5.05" (128mm).

So that's

LP Trencher:
Height:
4.27" (108mm)
Width:
2.21" (56mm)

Standard Trencher:

Height: 5.05" (128mm)
Width: 2.70" (69mm)

I haven't tried the LP Prolines yet, but I am interested in them as a street tire, but probably the 3.8 LP for the K4S. For any jumping, I wouldn't use a LP tire like that. The Arrma LP look quite a bit thicker.

If it were me buying a tire for the Typhon it would be MX28s. Probably the Belted version. (y)

There are Duratrax and Louise that are reasonable. But I’m not sure they will hold up to 6S ??‍♂️
I just tried the Louise wheels and tires and all I can say, I never again on 6s. They balloon like a madhouse and the plastic on the wheels where destroyed and shattered on the rear of my car. With no crashing that day, they do not hold up well. The rubber is very soft (probably the same for duratrax sixx tires) and started to peel off the bead. Im going to stick with proline Badlands on a solid wheel for bashing ;)

Mx28’s 2.8 and hoons I use rarely those was like racing on ice
Badlands are dirt of course but I use them for street action but not going hard, the damn tires are wrapped crazy but shredding wrap job
Mx28’s all day on 6’s with mamba monster x 2200 combo stupid speed need field of dirt to open her up

I put the Mx28, 17 hex, on the Typhon 6s V5 just to test. The rim touches the hub. I think you need to put on Kraton hubs, hexes, axles. No pivot ball. Is a bit more space that way. Original arms. But I have not tried it. Filing down the hubs should work. Haha, just saw lots about this on forum.

On the Typhon 3s the MX28 fit right away.
