Before and after. I can still go back to old wheels but now a wider stance.

Nice. I really like my truggified Typhon 6s too. It even does backflips on 4s on my small ramps. Such a beast. I did put the 15t pinion in it.

nice mate. I'm running a 15tooth in mine and it was lively on 6s. Tyres were fine though to my surprise trencher 2.8, didn't balloon too badly.

Hi, sorry newbie question here:

If I want to try the Typhon with the Badlands tires ...what extensions will be the correct length?
Is 13mm extension enough or do I need more?
I understand it is to better change hubs... but for a first try I want to check out extensions.

cheers
Frank

I ordered these on Amazon and they are more than enough. Not sure the absolute minimum you will need tho.

Aluminum 17mm Hex Wheel Hubs Adapter Extensions (23mm) w/Dust Cover for 1/8 RC Vehicle (Red, Set of 4) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07TXQ68MJ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_6J8xEb7GTXP6J

Thank you for the feedback.
Are you still running these extensions?
I looks crazy wide and I imagine it will put much more stress on the hubs and bearings when bashing hard.... I guess going full truggie is the best option.

This rig has yet to be run due to winter. My build finished just as winter arrived so it’s a shelf queen until spring, which may be a few weeks away. ??

Too funny I ordered the same tires. What shock towers did you use? I also am starting with the TLR chassis and I have some 7074 typhon shock towers too. I got a set of the 2.8 proline tires with the aluminum 17mm inserts. You have motivated this old man.

This is what it looks like currently. Same tlr rear tower but front tower changed to kraton. I should change the rear tower to kraton too but I'm lazy and it works fine as is. Also now using tlr shocks and iirc kraton rtr bumper to keep a more typhon look in the front. It's a lot wider than the typical truggified typhon since it has mojave arms and +13mm extensions. Not needed with smaller tires though! I actually just got those tires and inserts as well 🤣

I'm loving it 😍. I put a M2C front tower on my Kraton it might just have to go on. The proline tires are actually 👌 I'm really looking forward to seeing them in action hopefully they function as well as they look.

Congratulations on winning rig of the month 👏

The build looks great! I did this a few years ago and it's still my favorite RC rig. You'll burn through those MX 2.8 tires though. They just can't handle the 6s platform for too long. I went through a few sets and finally went with Mojave wheels/tires and haven't looked back. Cheers!
