Tuning with Spring Length

Hey fellow addicts. I'm working on tuning shocks for the Arrma Senton. I've watched a ton of YouTube videos on suspension tuning and of course, there is plenty of information on how to tune shocks by changing shock oils, pistons, hardness of the spring, etc.—but, I haven't found any resources, yet, on how to tune shocks by changing the length of a shock spring.

For example, how would handing characteristics change if I were to use a 53mm spring instead of a 45mm spring, given the spring rate of each was exactly the same and no other changes were made to the shock setup?

I figured out some more obvious stuff like that a longer shock spring (if it's too long) could limit compression if the spring is fully compressed before 100% of the uptravel on the shock is used, but I'm looking for deeper info on how spring length changes affect suspension performance.

Does anyone have a resource or two for this?

A longer spring is the same as adding spring spacers. No big change in spring rate, changed ride how high the rig sits. Too long effectively makes the spring a higher rate, but your better off going stiffer spring to retain adjust-ability.
Too short and you cannot adjust properly with spacers or the rig sits too low.

53mm is same as a 45mm with an 8mm spacer on the end.
