It seems very high on the video, the stock is 42mm, but i would run a bit lower if running on high traction surface.

I would shorten the shocks by adding o-rings (or even a plastic tube) on the shaft (between the piston and the bottom cap), that will limit the extension of the shock.

interesting, I've just seen a video for this method
Gonna try as soon as I have some me time, thanks!

Are the HR bodies just not available in your area? For less than $40 total it seems like the best solution rather than trying to fit something that is completely not engineered for the vehicle.

They are but 1 HR is stupidly expensive and I'm considering some other parts from them (steering hubs) and 2 I don't like to have half shock aluminium and half plastic tbh

These were so cheap I had to give it a go

What did you pay for the ZD setup vs. what would it cost to get the HR bodies? Seems like money wasted to me if you don't like them vs. guaranteed fit to the car.

Maybe for this purpose, the shorter Traxxass big bore shocks would help. You want the ride height as low and stiff as you can get it. Less air under the car the better.

oh I love the looks of the ZD ones!
I paid 25€ for the set. Finished shocks delivered in a day.
HR ones cost 40€+shipping (+ shock oil because I don't have any. And spring? Or the og one fits?)

I understand that. Bear in mind that I usually go off road, that was only to try the new wheels out.

You need a second one for off road ??????

Maaaaan I’ve got my left eye on the Granite already o_O
But I really have no room for this stuff
I fell ya there. I currently live in a small condo and have a very small yard. We are in the middle of remodeling it so we can sell and move to a house with a larger yard and hopefully an outbuilding. If that happens, I will have much more space and room to grow my collection.

Besides drilling it out, I have no other solution besides ordering a new part, just a few euros

Finally parts are here!

I just replaced the wing mount and added the wheelie bar for now, too tired to go on o_O

in the next days I’ll try to replace the green tubing with these Axial bushings

I’m also trying a DIY GoPro mount on the wing but the screw is too long, gotta find another one

New set of rubber

H04mO5Y.jpg
I think those are the Lockups equivalent? I ran those for a short time before I decided to dedicate mine to street running. ?? Tons of grip on grass and rocks.

Two ZD racing shocks bent, four new shocks in!

I went on a hunt and found these shocks, a bit more expensive than the ZDs (about 50€ vs 25€ for the set) but seems to be a bit better!

These are LRP and measures are basically identical to the ZDs (but I’ll measure them just to make sure) and part numbers are in the picture attached

Quick update: louise uphill tires are awesome, super sticky!
LRP shocks are also awesome, the spring is softer compared to the ZD ones, much smoother ride.

I managed to break a rear wheel hub though:confused: so more update pics coming in a minute!

..........

Hot racing hubs and c-hubs and steering blocks!
Put everything back together yesterday evening, still need to try it out!

play in the wheels is not gone if you were wondering

Get some 12mm ID x 18mm OD shims time put between the inner wheel bearing and the hub. This will take out the slop in the outer driveshafts. Don’t put too many or too thick or it will bind. I use these from Amazon

12mm I.D. x 18mm O.D. x 0.50mm Shoulder Screw (Stripper Bolt) Shortening Shim (Pack of 25)

I would have skipped the cost of the HR hubs and spent it on good Tekno shocks, which are actaully an upgrade that affects functionality of the truck.
