I'm using the 4s Kraton springs on the 6s Typhon shocks for my 3s Typhon 🤪. They are the same inside diameter as the 6s springs and about the same length and rate as the 3s Typhon springs.

So u think I can put the 3s typhon springs on the 6s for know until I get some good ones..lol🤔

Don't know about the Associated springs. check the specs on the listing.

Oh okay I just order some just now ..lol getting them on Friday and some Mojave front shocks and kraton v5 front shocks for my big rock I heard a lot that it runs smooth..lol

Yes, but if you get them from a parts breaker like JennysRC, you will also need to change the springs on both the Mojave 6s front shocks and the Kraton 6s front shocks as the stock springs on those shocks will be too stiff. Plus the Kraton 6s front shocks come with 1000cst oil in them. You will need to change the oil in the Kraton shocks to 550cst or approximately 40-50wt oil. The Mojave front shocks come with 550cst oil already in them.

Really….😒 so the team associate springs will work the Mojave and kraton ones? Sorry I didn’t know u have to change springs in them..lol

Yes. The Mojave and Kraton shocks are the same diameter as the Typhon 6s shocks. The Mojave and Kraton springs are set up for the heavier 6s rigs and are way too stiff for the lighter 3s 4x4 rigs. Need to change the springs to the Team Associated RC8B3 yellow springs also.

When choosing springs you need to consider:
1) The right width. Typhon 6s shocks are 16mm bore. Many 1/8 scale shocks will be 16mm wide.
2) The right length. The front springs on the Typhon shocks are 70mm long. The rear springs are 84mm long.
3) After that you choose the spring tension. There is an excellent thread on 16mm springs in the forum. It has the length and tension of many springs from Arrma, Tekno and Team Associated. https://www.arrmaforum.com/threads/arrma-spring-list-chart-for-4s-and-most-6s-vehicles.18704/

The spring tension on stock 3s shocks are:
Front 5.71 lb/in https://www.arrma-rc.com/en/product/front-shock-spring-2/ARAC9098.html
Rear 4.80 lb/in https://www.arrma-rc.com/en/product/rear-shock-spring-2/ARAC9099.html

Lighter springs like the Typhon 6s will be better for smoothing out bumps at higher speeds. The softer springs will absorb the bumps, but they will bottom out from bigger jumps more easily. Stiffer springs like the Kraton/Mojave combination will be better for landing jumps but will provide a stiffer ride over bumpy terrain.

I tried out LOTS of springs for my Granite. The best all round performers were the Team Associated Yellow springs that others have mentioned. Their spring tension is very close to stock 3s shocks, 5.7 front, 4.4 rear. I use the Kraton/Mojave combination. I primarily jump, so I wanted really stiff springs.

Did you have any issues with the yellow springs catching on the shock threads? I have the https://www.amainhobbies.com/team-a...spring-set-yellow-5.7lb-in-2-asc81226/p661930 and https://www.amainhobbies.com/team-a...spring-set-yellow-4.4lb-in-2-asc81232/p661934 on my Mojave shocks and they rub and don't fit in the collars very well...

You got the wrong springs. You got the Associated RC8B3.1 springs and you should've got the Associated RC8B3 springs. They are slightly different. Plus the RC8B3 springs are cheaper. Here is what you should've got.

Yeah I figured. I was able to get them to work better by taking them apart and forcing them onto the top collar before reassemble. But the lower plastic mount is kinda getting crushed. LoL

Well I put them on my typhon 6s shocks on my typhon 3s and they fit good I haven’t put my Mojave shocks and kraton 6s shocks for the rear but I’m gonna be off 2morrow and put those springs on tho..lol

How come the Typhon 6s springs are softer than 3s when the 6s is a heavier rig? Is it more set up for racing vs bashing with a smoother suspension response in the 6s rig?

I'm guessing different mounting locations which give it different leverage advantages
