I have been playing with an old ECX Torment for a few years and recently decided to upgrade. After some research and a visit to the local Hobby Town I bought a Typhon 6S BLX and then immediately started ordering parts to upgrade it. I'm treating it more like a kit than a ready-to-run.

With all the extra weight of the metal parts the Tekno springs, higher oil CST, and M2C shock pistons make it handle and land like a champ.

With the stock dBoots Katar tires and a Hoovo 5200 mAh 6S 60C battery I am getting 67.1 mph out of it. With the dBoots Hoons front wheels, which are a lot smaller than the Katars, I am getting 54 mph. Hope to get ahold of some rear Hoons at some point to see how much faster they are.

Speed is not really my goal though, the speed of this thing on 6S is amazing and makes breaking it in spectacular ways very easy, even with the upgraded parts.

And here are some screen grabs from some videos at the park. I'm not very good at taking interesting videos, but I think these are pretty cool.

Amazing ballooning of the stock Katars.

Received a clear body from HobbyTown, sticker sheet was pretty mangled, but the body arrived in good condition. But I guess I am spoiled by Pro-Line bodies, the Typhon body required a lot of clean-up of rough edges.

The fluorescent paint is amazing, much brighter than I had imagined. My goal was to have a body that I could see from a distance and be able to tell which direction it is facing.
