Typhon Typhon 6s Version?

New to these cars and I just purchased a used typhon 6s how can i tell what version it is? Was told it was a v5! But im not sure?

Definitely not a V5. The biggest tell tale of a V5 is the Spektrum electronics. Most likely the generation prior to V5. Is the radio an STX2?

It's a V4 for sure. It has the red/black body, low profile wing mount and the BLX electronics.

Yes, the V3 comes with the blue body, BLX electronics w/ xt90's, a high profile wing mount, and plastic shock caps.

Trust me, when I got the V3 years ago, I was also surprised that it came with plastic shock caps, because my V1 and V2 came with aluminum caps. I've bashed the hell out of it, and they have never popped off. The V4 and V5 now have aluminum caps again.

Older than v4 center diff covers are more formed to the shape, and the v4 and newer have the horizontal sliding motor plate. The v5 receiver box is more the shape of the area around it instead of square. Those are the first things i look at. V4's and 5's have the same diff cover/center diff/motor mout setup. Like said above metal shock caps are a v4 and newer thing, but infractions still run the plastic low profile caps. V5's have a spektrum setup and also have the little plastic covers over the diff cups for the center dog bones.
