Thanks very much, sir! After I built the tail for it I had a smug grin on my face the whole time I was painting the carbon fiber. It makes me feel cool to paint CF .. But the carbon weave does show up slightly through the paint…

You did an excellent job sir
I get very impatient when I paint. But I also know the car will eventually flip a hundred times at a high rate of speed too. Lol

What sits under that body looks fast, the body is pretty hot too. I like the seamless transition between the wing and body, that was well done.

What you her geared for?

I can’t remember, but it’s too high. Not quite 1/1, but it’s close. I’ll definitely swap in a smaller pinion. Probably a 21-25 and see how the temps go. Should run pretty cool with that gearing. I’ve only run it twice and it was getting close to 175° after a fairly conservative parking lot bash, I was pretty much just dialing in the suspension and not really hooning about. When I gear down I’ll probably have to run it on 4s or dial back the throttle if I’m on 6s. It will wind up quite a bit quicker and it’s already a handful. It’s a freaking missile, man. I might take off the GRP’s and burn up a set of gold compound Hoons. More grip would really be nice.

Thanks for the kind words! I enjoyed doing it, and although I was nervous about how it would end up it worked out well. The proportions aren’t quite what they should be on that DeltaPlastik body, but if I squint my eyes a little I can see a 962. They really, seriously need to get rid of the “fins” that run up both sides of the whole body. It would make it much closer to a scale 962. One of my favorite cars ever. And I love the Rothmans livery.

Thank you, sir! It’s actually been getting taken off the shelf more lately, too. I’m trying to jam more street fun into my schedule before we have a couple of feet of snow on the ground! I’ve managed to avoid any major shunts or crashes with it, so the scratches and dents aren’t too bad. I’ll call it street cred.
Also (I can’t remember if I mentioned this earlier anywhere) but I put paint protective film on the tops of the fenders, the roof, and the rear vertical stabilizers. It’s helped a lot.
