My V3 kraton has ran very well the last 6 months. I am very familiar with diff problems and sounds that may occur but recently I notice not all the times but when I hit my brakes then try to pop a willy there is a very loud cogging noise I thought it might be the diffs, gears. everything is good and tight shimmed Etc. Just wondering if anybody out there has had this problem. I would appreciate any help.

Same here. I’m new to Rc and recently got a V3 Kraton. Been driving it for a couple of weeks and now I have the same sound. Thought one of the diff or input gears had lost a teeth or been stripped but everything looks fine. I have not shimmed my diffs yet but don’t think that could be the problem considering I only drove it a few times

It has me very confused I just checked every gear input gear all the spider gears planetary gears every gear lol. looks good everything is shimmed and not too much play but I am not a professional on brushless motors. I do not know the noise it makes if it's starting to go out or if it does make a noise. All I know is it makes a cogging sound when you try to go slow and I've taken one apart not much to it I can understand if one of the magnets busted in there but imagine it would make a nasty noise all the time or a bearing that would make the noise all the time also. very confused??

I'm doing a full break down now found nothing so far. I appreciate any advice

Okay so I found the problem and thank u. Yall were right , It was the input gear skipping on the spiral. They look good tell you see them out and up close because it only takes a little wear down for it to happen. I replaced input and spiral gear so everything should be good to go.
Thank you 4 your time and help.

I'm rebuilding and adding upgrades to V4 Kraton and having issues with front diff. Inspected the gear itself and it "looks" good. Hadn't inspected the actual mesh itself. That's likely the issue having seen your pics. Thanks for sharing that. ?

Well well well well well well...

Side by side comparison of used vs new!! This has been a learning experience for sure. Here I thought the used one (on the left) looked good. Experience is knowledge ?

Nice! Do you always change the input gear and diff gear the same time ? I replaced my input gear cause it was like your photo. Local hobby shop didn’t have the diff gear in stock and it didn’t look too damaged so I didn’t replace it yet.

Just order a few diffs off of Jenny's or another kit breaker. I'm new with Arrma so learning alot with this current Kraton unintended rebuild. Added voltage braces, yeah racing fans, HR front diff house, just waiting on HR front lower a-arm guide and SHOULD be set ???
Good news is I've learned how to disassemble the front and rebuild multiple times.
