Hello all,

New here and in the market for an 8s.

Been reading a lot on the updated version of the 8s with the new braces, DX3 etc, have been searching the threads and couldn’t find much info on whether the same updated version is available in the UK? Cheers.

You can verify whether it is a V1 or V2 by the part number. The boxes haven’t been updated yet as far as I’ve seen so unless you pop it open they probably won’t be able to tell from outside the box.

most retailer should only have the newer version now as all ran out before stock came back in place but as @jondilly1974 says worth checking the SKU and the description for the DX3 and you should be fine

Cheers folks, yes I thought it would be the model number would give it away. However, every retailer in UK the description is the latest SKU code but all state the DX2e. Makes me think we in the UK are slightly lagging behind.

They probably didn’t have enough data to properly update their listings to the full spec. This was a very quick, on the fly adjustment that Arrma made and I commend them for it. It is unusual for a company to respond so quickly to a design issue like this. Usually takes a year or more for major updates. Add in the whole pandemic cofounder and you can see how this got messy. Like @r4nd0m said above, all V1 stock should be completely exhausted by now.

I’d call modelsport and wheelspin to check I know for a fact both ran out of stock previously and I believe they got restocked after the Mojave batch arrived which would have been a new batch

I just bought mine from Wheelspin models and it was the original version - no updates bracing.

I ordered the kit straight away from horizon hobby's and I've just installed it now along with a 23T pinion - just waiting for the thread lock to cure before taking it for a spin !

Looking great. Spoke to my local dealer and the updated version isn’t available in UK yet, it’ll be a couple more months

How much was the kit?
