Arrma RC's
  1. 4x4-Mega
  2. Senton 6s
So I upgraded to a brushless setup on my senton 4x4 mega. I noticed that the 3s's have a different slipper setup with what looks like 3 plates. My question is will the stock slipper handle it or do i need to upgrade the slipper also. Will the senton 3s motor mount slipper assembly fit in the mega 4x4.

Here's what I had to put in my Senton to prevent failures (the shopping list):

HR steel spur:

Pinions:

Shaft support:

Adjustable motor mount:

Heatsync (for motor):

XT90 connectors:

Don't forget to get an HD rear input gear because sooner or later the stock will shear off at 3s or higher ;)

Thanks for the list. I did most of that already. Just making sure that the original slipper can handle things.

Will it handle it - depends on what motor you're running, but usually 2s will hold up for a while, however on 3s the smaller 48p teeth of the mega spur tend to get stripped easily. The metal 4s spur/slipper mentioned is nice to have, but I find that the stock plastic 3s spur/slipper works just fine if sticking to 3s and under.

And yes the 3s motor module will fit with he stock mega spur/slipper but you would need to get the one with the adjustable aluminum motor mount and set your own gear mesh. If you buy the stock 3s v2 mount/module that has the predrilled pinion sizes it won't mesh correctly if you are using mega 48p gearing and thatsy because the holes are designed for 32p gears.

I'm running 48p on mine, have run it with a 3200kv motor without issue but prefer the speed of the 4300kv since it has enough power and speed to haul butt. I used an adjustable motor mount (should be in the list) which helped me find the gearing that worked best for moving the Senton around (16t pinion/91t spur).

I don't see the need in changing out the entire drive assembly unless you are planning to go larger motor with way less kv...steel spur will handle pretty much anything from 3200kv and up in my experience. No excessive gear wear and still using the same gears I upgraded to almost a year later ;)
