I just picked up a Outcast this week. One of the main reasons I decided on the Outcast was because I already have 2 6S 22.2V 3200mAh 30C LIPO batteries. But now I I see that the Outcast requires a minimum of 5200mAh 35C battery. What kind of damage can happen to my truck if I use my 3200mAh batteries?

A fire can happen with too low of a C rating. Someone burnt up there truck the other day with traxxas batteries 25c rating.

Well that"s scary. I sure wish i had noticed the battery requirements before I bought this truck. I probably would have gone with something else. I thought I had done all my homework but I feel stupid now. Not too happy about having to buy new batteries.

Thanks for the advice TraverseCity420!

A packs capability (current/amp output) takes both the C rating and capacity into account.

C * Capacity (mah/1000) = Amps
or
C * (mah/1000) = Amps

30C * 3.2A = 112 Amps

Per the manual, the truck requires 35C 5000mah pack.
35C * 5A = 175Amps

So, for a 3200mah pack, you would need a 55C capable pack:
55C * 3.2A = 176 Amps

At least, that's how I think it works.

These 6s 30C batteries are the ones I use in my Carbon Cub RC plane. Was hoping they could work double duty.

I run 4S in my truck which now has castle creations they suggest a min of 30C but then state or use high quality traxxas 25c batteries..

I run a mix of traxxas batteries and HRB/YouMe Cheapo lipos.. the traxxas are 25C the HRBS I think are 50C and 60C, I've not burnt my truck up yet..

The guy I mentioned who did, said his were brand new batteries and one puffed up and caught fire, Could have been the old style traxxas batteries which were known to puff. The newer ones Ive not had a single one puff.

Your millage may vary :D

Even if those batteries do work, they're very underpowered and performance of the Outcast will be poor.
Spend $75 on a Turnigy Heavy Duty 6s 5000mah 60C battery. It's not that expensive and will run the Outcast properly.

Do you get them in the tray? I have the 4s and i need, for my feeling, to much force to get them in.

Yeah it fits in. Just! Pics are a Typhon (top) and Talion (bottom) with the battery in place. Sadly I don’t have a pic of it in the Notorious.
