I've been toying with the idea of getting a Tekno buggy/truggy and using it for bashing. Maybe putting some MX28/38s or something for wheels. What are people's experiences using racing buggies/truggies for bashing? Seems like Teknos are a popular choice. Doesn't seem like there are many options for front bumper and wing mounts? I've read mixed reviews on whether they're durable enough. I'm not an extreme basher and don't jump more than 10ft in the air most times. Thanks

I have been getting a tekno et48 2.0 for years just for something different really but when I was reviewing it on youtube and forums it didn't seem to get good reviews as a basher and its expensive to get up and running. wouldn't want to put cheap electronics in it either. then I didn't no whether to run 4s or 6s on it so never bothered

I think EVS Hobbies has some bumper for the ET48 but don't quote me on that they might have been on Aliexpress. The wing mounts on most race kits are built so much better than the Arrma wing mounts so there really is no need for an aftermarket one. On my ET48.3 I've broken 1 wing mount in the past 3 years and 1 on my Vorza since 2019, I've destroyed like 5 between the 2 cars though.

M2C racing makes chassis plates, shock towers, and driveshafts for the ET48. The ring gears are designed to push a 11lb truck on 4s like a rocket. I'm told they can be run on 6s but I don't see that being a lasting relationship.

Tekno diffs are stronger than the Arrma EXB diffs. Everything is bigger and the tolerances are much tighter as well.

Is it a better driving experience though? I have a talion and Kraton already. Would it be worth it to move on from one or would an ET be too similar?

The first time you drive an ET48 you'll have to hold your nose. After you get used to how they handle their amazing trucks. Nothing corners better than a Tekno.

Yes my ET48.3 drives like it's on rails. I'm not sure about the Talion but it does drive different from my Kraton but my Kraton does have like 5lbs on the Tekno so the Tekno is a bit more nimble.

Before I forget before Arrma was a thing bashing with 1/8 scale buggies and truggies was the norm. Team Associated and Losi both still make ready to run cars based on their race kits.

wouldn't want to start upgrading a car that's already expensive to get up and running though and I am in the uk so would have to get m2c parts from the USA if that was the case

Modelsport now have quite a few tekno et parts. I usually check there first.

I sold my Talion exb which I loved driving but had constant diff problems and bought a tekno. The tekno et handles better, is as fast on 4S as the Talion was on 6S, weighs loads less and never breaks down. You don’t even have to service the diffs.

Techno, Kyosho, Mugen...all will out perform and out last most any RTR. You can set up a new one, with your choice of electronics, tires and wheels, for very close to what an *s Arrma costs, and you won't need to start replacing servos, etc. right outta the box.
