I have the quad venom great charger had it for 8 months no issues USB port to charge phone, clips to charge off car battery, buzzing sound when charged, extra cables to charge other people’s rigs it’s great charger
Just imagine charging batteries from your car battery to bash even longer nice

I have the venom duo pro and I like it ?
Starting to wish it was a quad tho...
Also wish it had a little more power/wattage the next charger I buy will probably be a HOTA 6 plus, they look super nice!

The only real downside with it is the 7A output per channel. When I ran 2S and 2x2S packs, I had some that were 9000mah, so I wanted a charger that would output at least 10A per port and the venom got dropped off the list early.

I ended up with the dynamite 4x100w/4x10A unit and it has served me well. However, now I run 3S and with it set to 10A, it hits the 100W wattage limit on my 3S packs anyway, which is right around 8A (I have 6200mah and 5000mah 3S packs). Still, it's been almost 3 years and running at 100% every time I use it (which is about every other weekend), it has done the job well.

You are correct it is 7 amps per port.

damn maybe this charger isn’t going to work with my 8000 mah 4s lipo’s? Any one know?

It will work fine it is just not going to be real fast being limited to 7amps per port/channel

would an Icharger 4010 duo charge faster even though its a duo? like could you charge two packs, and then charge two more in less time it would take to charge 4 packs on the quad?
I think it charges up to 40 amps per channel for insanity charging. lol

7 amps is just under a 1C charge rate for a 8000mAh battery (8 amps would be 1C)
So 7 amps is definitely on the safe side. If your batteries are capable of 2C charge rate you could charge as high as 16 amps if your charger allowed.

These are my batteries.

I don’t know what they can be charged at?

I have the exact same ones!!
I’ve yet to charge them with my venom duo pro tho. So I can’t say how long it will take but I’ll be giving them all it’s got at a whopping 7 amps per channel ?
I usually charge my 5200 mAh batteries at 7 amps as well (they have a 2C charge rate) and they take about 30-40min from a storage charge.

So, in a perfect world those 8000 mah batteries should be charged at 8amps. Charging them at 7 amps won’t hurt them it will just extend the charge time.

Correct ?
I’m not positive but i think the SMC’s are also capable of a 2C charge rate.
So those 8000 mAh should be able charge up to 16 amps on a fast charge. You’d have to get a more powerful charger tho...
I just ordered my second one of these (first one is full) for piece of mind while charging ?

Yep, 4x100W/4x7A. It was one I looked at before buying the one I ended up with. An 8000mah 4S will take 8A and about 120W to charge at 1C. Many people try to charge at 1C as that is typically the line between safe and fast. Pretty sure SMC's can take 2C, but charging at 1C would likely make them last longer as it's stressing them less. Charging them at less than 1C will help even more.

I have nothing but SMC and charge at 1C only, you can charge them at 2C if you like though. Before my Hota charger I had a Hyperion that only charged at 3A on my 3s 5000 mah packs, took awhile but packs lasted a long time.

I wonder if you can use Venoms power supply with that. I have very little experience with electrics (nitro&gas). Seems like from all the research I have been doing, no charger is all that great unless you use a DC power supply. That unlocks its true potential. Case in point Venoms Power Supply "this power supply is capable of DC power output up to 1350W/60A ".It does appear that it was specifically made for the Venom ProTouch HD charger.

@Clubin I have been looking at these. They require separate power supplies that are available in a drop down next to the charger. Although only dual port at those ratings It should charge pretty dam fast.

More budget friendly and still powerful..
