I'm runing an Infraction. Using Two Cheap 3S 80C 5200MAH batteries in series I to a Spektrum 160A ESC (out of a Kraton) into a Castle 2200kv motor.

While doing short speed runs I'm getting an cutout at wide open throttle. My data shows minimum voltage dropping to around 16 volts.

Is my cutout caused by a couple bad battery cells? Is that unusually high voltage drop?

Running 29/34 gearing - it's a very heavy load.

Or is this just too much for that ESC?

27/34 may work better. The smallest gear that will fit the stock mount. 2200kv pulls a lot of amps. for 29/34. Up the spool gear a biit. 39T maybe.
Dropping as low as 16v is bad. May have bricked a few cells there.
I think you need a Cap pack in this equation.

Thank you. I'm thinking I may have bricked a few cells - like you said..

I've read people's voltage drop 1 or 2 volts but mine sunk like a rock.

I'm gonna get the cap pack - and better batteries - and dial back the gearing slightly.q

You mentioned in another thread to turn the Punch setting down (in a discussion about Cap packs) for speed runs - maybe I should try that too? I have it cranked up to 100%
