So I see the chats about moving the battery tray back to balance weight. So when I got my new FT I thought I’m going crawler crazy 😜 watching my weight getting it balanced. She weights 16.50lb what’s there.I’m happy with the balance I got.

One other thing I was going back and forth on was max6/1650 combo or MMX8S/1260kv. Really didn’t plan on running 8S mainly 6S with some 4S if my son or wife drive. I put the Max6 in but I’m thinking of taking it out and putting in the MMX8S combo.

1260kv is going to suck real hard on 4s.

Yeah she balanced out very nice.
FT is the heaviest of the 6s off road Arrma's. I think the Mojave comes in second. I moved my Mojave lipo tray back also. She was nose diving with it in forward position.

I compared my Mojave EXBs (one running the MMX8S and 1717 and the other running the Max 6 and 1650KV motor). I couldn't see any notable differences between the two rigs. Everything was exactly the same (tires, pinion size etc). They even got the same exact top speed. Now the XLX2 is more advanced and all that. I did blow TWO 1717 motors while trying out 8s, while the 4985 HW motor did 8s no problem. Both 1717 motors blew up within 5 minutes. Maybe it was the huge jumps? Don't know. I got one warrantied from Castle and I sold it and put a 4985 from HW. I don't trust that 1717 motor anymore. That was my experience. Or just use the MMX8S with the 4985 HW motor. That's what I did. And I never ran 8s again. Too much damage on the drivetrain and the Mojave is uncontrollable on 8s. Just MHO 👍
Take a look. I know it's a different vehicle than yours, but you can get an idea :

Great videos. I’m going to stick with the max6/1650kv combo with a 24t for now. I’m going to run 6S anyway so should be fine.

Very cool! What scales are you using? I wanted to get some, but the only ones I’ve found are made for 1/10‘s and are pretty limited when you start getting into the 1/8 or 1/7 rigs.

This is the scale I use. Had it for a long time from my crawler days. Figured I’d try it on all my rigs see how balanced they are.

Lookin good!! I'd have to say, of all the Arrma's, the FT is likely the most underpowered out of the box. I typically stick with stock type/sized electronics but thinking the FT being the heaviest rtr 6s Arrma makes would be my one exception. Probably needs a bigger motor. Does it use the larger LSD diffs? Likely a good idea if not.

I know I went back and forth. Max6/1650kv or MMX8S/1260kv. I went with the max6 but might switch. I’m going to run it first see how it drives first. Servo should be here end of the week.

Fwiw, I ran the same 1717 1260 motor that was in my Typhon in my Xmaxx first, with a mmx8s and 20/50 gearing, and I had no complaints, it moved the Xmaxx great, would wheelie and backflip too with no problems... maybe I just got lucky and got a good one, but I have only good things to say about that 1260 motor.. in fact, it's in my Infraction drag truck now

I'm going to run max6/16650Kv see what I think first. The MMX8S/1260kv’s sitting on the shelf if I want to try it.

Looking at the weight bias above, perhaps 6000mah would be near perfect? It's close enough for bashing as is by all means..sweet lookin rig with those tires!! REALLY makes me want one!!

I wanted a FT but I'm cheap I only buy when things are on sale!!(so I got 2) 5600MAH is the biggest MAH battery I have in 3S any bigger its not going to fit in the battery tray. The stock tires just didn't do it for me I needed something more aggressive.

Ah, gotchya. Biggest 3s I own are 5500's. Mainly due to my own cheapness, LOL.

I'm close to that count myself, difference being mine are ALL amazon cheapos🤣🤣
Hey at least those Amazon cheapo are just as good as the spektrum that cost 3x more. Poor Fishtank has so many too 🤣
