When you were a kid playing a game like tag how did you choose who was IT?
Was it:

“Eenny meeny miney moe catch a tiger by the toe if he hollers let him go... “

“Bubble gum bubble gum in a dish how many pieces do you wish” - give a number, count

"My mother and your mother were hanging out clothes"

Or something else?

Eenny meeny, or the youngest went 1st. Or sometimes if we were all inside, it was the last one outside when we called a game of tag on.

No, the one that just couldn't seem to keep up. Nobody wanted to tag him to make him It, so we just started the game out like that. Same result either way. Some of us just let him tag us so he would feel good.
